I've owned one of these for a short amount of time, but am basically blown away by it. You know it's going to be good when you buy one - it weighs a HUGE amount, and there doesn't seem to be any expense spared in building them.
I can't say for sure about whether the stabiliser (which you sit on top of the CD before closing the drawer) makes any real difference in itself. I'm also not 100% convinced about the 'switchable digital filter' that is to the bottom left of the unit. All I know is that this is a LOT better a player than you can pick up for under £150 these days, and is seriously built to last.
Just make sure you pair it up to a quality amp and speakers, and you'll be confident you've bought a superb player. Don't expect it to shine when rigged up to sub-par components because you may struggle to hear some of the extra detail that a unit such as this can provide.
Personally I actually listen mainly though headphones, using QED interconnects and a vacuum tube amplifier.
