the lense is good value for money but has no image stabiliser on it so can show up camera shake at shutter speeds slower than 320 at full zoom so this is where a tripod becomes a neccesity but other than that when I used it on safari I got some excellent shots which make it look like I was right up close to lions etc, but dont confuse this lense for a long range zoom lense (telephoto) as thats not what its designed for. Its merely designed to bring objects closer in to fill the frame not to photograph things that are say a mile away and youre hoping to get a close up shot of it, thats when you get into seriously big money and start paying £2000 and over for the high end 600mm tele lenses like what you see the paperazi carrying around, if you want something like this then you can hire them rather than pay for them in full if say you only need them for a few days or weeks.
its a good lens and I like it very much that is why I bought it so that I could use it with my camera thank you very much................................................................. ..................................................................... .....................................................................
This is an excellent budget zoom lens with good abilities for the novice slr user. I bought it as as my first zoom lens to upgrade on a budget and like the performance against cost. The size of the lens while fitted isn't too big for a medium sized case which is nice. Clear pictures are assured by the canon quality build and i will stay with this one untill i can upgrade to the image stabiliser models. A safe upgrade move from the standard canon lens.
