I was looking for a compact digital zoom camera to replace my Cannon A300 and after a lot of searching and window shopping came across this camera on ebay. The price was excellent and it had goor reviews elsewhere so I thought I`d go for it and I have not been disappointed. The camera has a 12 times optical zoom with a 4 times digital zoom giving an impressive maximum 50 times magnification. This of course depends on the original magnification when the exposure was taken. The picture quality is very good in higher zoom values and exceptional in lower ones ( at least far superior to my old 3.2 megapixel Cannon ) You can take nearly 400 photos on a 1GB S D card and it also has a 32MB built in memory just in case you run short when shooting. It has the ability to shoot five frames in quick sucsession so that you can capture those special moments and take out the best frame or of course print them all. There is so much going on with this camera that although I`ve taken about 200 photos " getting used " to it I have not explored all of i`ts different functions. One of the things I find usefull is the built in image stabiliser which greatly reduces those blurred shots, a huge help if you`re out and about without a tripod and shooting scenes at a distance. All in all a very good camera at an exceptionally reasonable price with a high performance
The reason that I purchesed this item from this EBAYER was the price. The camera arrived within a couple of days as described. Once again many thanks !!
The Camera has a fantastic look and along with its capabilities its one of the best in its class.

This camera was recommended to me by a local photographer after expressing my feelings about wanting to take up photography. I was told, that until fairly recently, it was up to professional specs.
I have owned this camera for about 2 months now, and am impressed with the picture quality. The camera does a very good job in the AUTO mode, but I have had fun playing with the manual settings and coming up with some great quality photographs (from Macro to landscapes).
I would definitely recommend this camera to anyone who is wanting to take up photography for more than just snapshots.
The only negative to the purchase, was the 2 Kodak AA batteries that were supplied, they lasted allof about 20 minutes while I got used to the functions. I do recommend getting hold of the Energizer AA Lithium batteries and/or K8000 rechargeable battery and charger.
Very good camera. Spend some batteries, 2 alkaline batteries to give 15 or 20 pictures with flash. The quality of the catch is very good. It allows manual adjustments of the exhibition, opening diaphragm and approach. It is almost professional. The flash is very good up to 5 meters away. Record video in VGA quality 640 x 480 and High Definition HQ. It brings together in a single device a camera almost professional, and a basic video camera. Very good.
An excellent camera, i`m very glad that i bought it. Camera in excellent condition, everything that i got was the same to the list of what you will get extra. Thank you, and excellent camera once more.
In addition to it's good reputation for producing still images, this camera offers 1280 x 720 30 fps video and was for me the main reason for its purchase.
I was very happy with the still image performance. Throughout the zoom range images were sharp and very colourful. There have been reviews of the Z812 (and other Kodak models) criticising writing speed but it was not a serious problem for me except for the panaoramic stitching process which does take time.
The video modes were less satisfying. The 1280 x 720 30 fps video is smooth enough but outdoors in bright sunlight the images appeared quite soft and lacking in contrast. Strangely I found that indoors, in less contrasy conditions, the video quality was rather more acceptible but in neither situation was there any more detail than from my Canon camera operating in 640 x 480 30 fps. I made futher comparison with the Canon camera which has a 1024 x 720 15fps video mode. As you would expect from handheld operation the Kodak at 30 fps produced smoother (steadier) video but the Canon video was much sharper. I discussed my findings with the eBay supplier who were very helpful and offered me an exchange or refund. They also suggested I contact Kodak and allowed me time to do this. I emailed two short samples to Kodak from which they indicated that the samples were normal for the model.
I suffered the usual difficulty with the Kodak range of digicams that look as though they might work with standard AA alkaline or rechargeable Ni metal hydride batteries. For tests or in an emergency yes, but if you are serious about owning one of these models you have to be prepared to purchase the appropriate Klic8000 3.7 volts Li-ion battery and charger.
As a still camera I rate the Z812 IS highly, but - depending on your expectations - you might find the HD video disappointing.
great product had one problem though the battery conducters were the wrong way round but it was reconditioned so knew what i was getting fantastic thanks
easy to use and very happy eith it and hope to make it easy for photo takeing has ever thing on it that i want and have had a look for fun useing ti takeing lots of photo and being able to us the dirrefen setting on
Bought this camera believing it is worth the price. And so far I wasn't mistaken. The pictures are very clear and sharp. The colors are as good as you can see it in original. Also the shutter speed is quite impressive. Once you make the picture you can just press on the shutter button and make another while the first one is being saved. Zoom - impressed by this future as well. Pictures with maximum zoom are still sharp and in good quality.
Overall this camera isn't probably for paparazzi but it does its job.
I am very much a technophobe-and it took me about an hour to get my head around this camera, eveything is self explanatory--if I can do it anyone can--10/10 all round
ecellent camera, small and light weight, easy to use and takes really good pictures on auto mode, have not tried all the fuctions yet but am really happy with the camera. if you are looking for an easy to use camera that takes professional quality pictures then this is the one
I like kodak????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
It is absolutely fantastic. I was thinking of buying a Canon or Nikon camera but I made the right choice of buying this. The camera is working perfectly and the picture quality is awesome. Thank you.
Well I was pleased with the quickness of delivery, but when I opened the package the disc to show how it worked was cracked and the stand was also cracked. When I tried to get a replacement it was not avaliable they wanted the invoice I have to contact the original seller and the more I phone or made e mails it got complicated so I gave up. I still do not know how to put the snaps onto my cimputer my other Kodak was so easy. You could say I was disapointed T.R.
It finds just the right balance between compact and SLR. Picture quality is great and especially when using the optical zoom (those of you who have been used to the grainy effects of digital zoom will have a treat in store. And talking about balance, though its bigger than most digital compacts, it is light and easy to rip and operate with one hand.
The digital viewfinder is a plus too. No more squinting at the lcd screen on a bright sunny day to try and frame your picture.
Plenty of user operated modes to keep you busy ... and a spot on auto mode for when you can't be bothered.
I purchased a digital camera (KODAK Z812IS) from this seller with excellent reviews & items arrived well packaged.
This was my first eBay purchase and I'm more than happy to have done it.
Regarding the camera, Well, it’s not an SLR but it’s powerful as well. I describe it as something in between my low-pixel camera and my SLR (that I use for work). 8MP digital, hence the pictures are quite clear. The 12X zoom is pretty helpful I was able to focus on a bird which was like 200metres away from me and with the use of the tripod, the image got sharp enough. The Z812IS also has the manual mode, aperture priority mode, the shutter speed and the program mode.
pas de probleme, mis a part que l'objet a ete livree avec une pile kodak qui etait dechargee! Je n'est pas pus m'en servir de suite, pas grand chose en somme. A+ RiZzemozZ ;-)
This camera is a good compromise between a professional and snap camera and creates reasonable pictures, though I have seen better results from my 3.2MP Olympus camera as the Kodak tends to be sensitive to shaky hands and blurred focusing even on the faster settings.
In manual mode the camera fares better but is fiddly to set up. Overall the pictures aren't as pleasing to look at as the cobalt/purple tinged pictures which come from a Carl Zeiss lens. With 4GB to hand, the solution is to take loads of pictures and choose the best ones. I can fit around 900 hi quality 6x4 pictures on a card.
That said the camera will focus very quickly and there is a shorter time delay between pressing the button and taking the picture than any other camera I have used to date, so it beats a camera phone hands down for on the go shots of friends and family. It takes quite a long time to save a picture to the card despite the memory buffer though I may need to purchase faster memory.
The flash is pretty good and the camera can attempt to capture images in low light. There are loads of settings to choose from but it is hard to remember what setting I was on for any given photo and the differences are so marginal that I imagine the electronics are already getting the best out of the lens and that the lens is the camera's weakest point. In manual mode the screen is just about adequate for basic focusing and will show a zoomed in version of the image. Beyond this, sharp focus is a case of guessing where the sharp point lies between too close and too far. The view finder is electronic and completely and utterly useless for anything except pretending you are using a traditional camera.
The Lithoum Ion battery is good, charges reasonably quickly and lasts a long time. The camera is fairly robust and looks like it means business. The best thing is that it captures HiDef widescreen movies with stereo sound. So it's not just a camera. It's a video camera as well and a better video camera than I have seen in any camera phone.
I considered the SONY for a brief moment before reminding myself that it only takes proprietary memory and that their accessories are a rip off.
To sum up, despite its shortcomings I would actually recommend the KODAK Z812-IS as a better than average family camera. Simple enough for anyone to use and complicated enough for an experienced photographer to experiment with.
this is a great camera, all the built in features, the zoom is to a very high standard good for close ups of wildlife, scenery, etc.
well worth the price i looked at other cameras and decided to stick with kodak, great picture quality on a high def t.v,
now to the drawbacks i had to buy a battery (as it is not compatible with AA batteries),well two so i had the option to recharge one and have one ready to go, also they were hard to find and quite expensive ranging from £17.99 to £35.00 so had to shop around for them, the battery life is also very very good, also had to buy a charger that was compatible with the batteries that was another £25.00, stings a bit,
well worth it though getting some of the best pictures i have had to date with a digital camera so great camera but beware there are going to be hidden costs once you get the camera. hope this helps you decide
