Nintendo Wii™ Console

The Nintendo Wii is simply a console that offers unique gameplay at a very affordable cost. It is less than half the price of the PlayStation 3, at only about £160 in the UK and $250 in the USA.
The best thing about the Nintendo Wii is, I think, its motion sensitive controller. Nintendo offers a very cool "Remote" & a "Nunchuk" remote add-on. The controllers are wireless, and the Nunchuck connects to the Wii Remote with a wire, and can be used only on some games. And, believe me, when you sit down to play on the Wii, the gameplay is great. The motion sensitive remote works a treat (although it takes time to get used to) and the additional Nunchuck is excellent in its own right. The only disadvantage is that the controller runs out of batteries fast, so you may have to keep charging it if you like gaming for long hours.
The Wii also has built-in WiFi support and this allows you to access free online services and eventually you will be able to play games & download them, which I think is great thinking by Nintendo.
As well as this, if you have a GameCube, you can play all your GameCube games on the Wii itself, but you will need to connect the original GameCube controller, which is a bit of a pain. The Wii has slots at the top for connecting GameCube controllers & putting in GameCube Memory Cards for loading and saving games on.
Finally, coming to the end of the Good, the Wii has a built-in SD Card Reader so you can put in your SD Card and view photos stored on your SD Card.

Before we get into the bad side of the Wii, I would just like to stress that this console may not offer you the best graphics, but will offer a kind of gameplay that is unique and original.

Carrying on then - The worst thing about the Wii is that it lacks the advanced HD Graphics of the Xbox 360 and the PS3. But, this is a console that is meant to be accessible to all - and it is, because of this, very affordably priced, and so expensive features have been cut down due to a small budget.
Also, the controller takes some time to get used to and is a bit awkward at first; but I found that the Wii Sports (a free collection of games given with the Wii) guides you through using the innovative controllers.
Finally, something I found really disappointing is that the Wii can't play CDs or DVDs - not ideal for keeping in the centre of your living room, then. This is a feature Nintendo could have easily given - it is even in the original Xbox!!! A true let-down then. But consider the price - and then just forgive Nintendo for doing this.


So, the Wii is a good console. But is it right for you?
If you are just looking for an affordable console which offers unique gameplay, then I'd say yes. But, if you're just looking for pure graphics and something you can play lying on your couch, and money isn't that important, then you should really go for the other next-gen consoles, instead of the console that Nintendo has given us here. The Wii.

This is top game console. Money well spent at a great price with a very helpful Ebayer. I can't stop playing. There is nothing bad to report about it! Well done to Nintendo. I could go on and on about all the good things Nintendo Wii has but that will just bore you so the best thing to do is get out there and buy one and see for yourself it's well worth the money!

Set is easy to do, just follow the instructions in the manual to set up the hardware, then follow the on screen instructions. Easy! The games themselves are not so easy, and do require the development of the necessary skills. However, they are easy to pick up.

Since getting my wii with fit board ive been more enthusiastic about exercise than ever before in my life.Watch repeats ...not me anymore i,m up off the sofa ski-ing,walking tightropes,jogging,doing step classes,playing tennis,baseball and more.And the best thing is my partner is joining in ,we reguarly have boxing matches where as before he,d be snoring his little heart out.This machine is so well thought out and clever,i can play on my own,with my 5 year old grandaughter and my 21 year old daughter and interest them all.I can weight myself,take fitness tests and it corrects you when your doing it wrong.If i spent this money on a gym i wouldnt keep it up but this will keep me interested for a long time as i have to work at it to open new levels.Well done to the designers.Look out for me in my size 12 dress,the day is coming!!

We love our wii!!
Its used daily and having four children (all at different ages) we find its ideal because even the younger children can play on this easily - yes even our 15month old baby can bowl for us on baseball now!!
My parents and even my grandparents enjoy playing against the grand kids too when they come to visit, ok so its not got the best graphics against the playstation and xbox etc but personally i have never been interested in sitting with a piggly controller and playing games on them with the children, the wii seems to bring our family endless hours of fun because of the motion action playing simulation which is some thing no other console offers.
We enjoy it even more now that we have invested in a big lcd tv, and playing bowling as a family on that its almost like being at the bowling alley!!
As part of our games collection i can advise that these games are great and are worth buying and are more than suitable for all ages (perhaps not as young as 15months though.. our baby is just lucky to be able to bowl as it takes nothing other than shaking the remote which makes him giggle for ages lol)

this console is the best, just watch out for the rubbish games,which always flood games consoles, cant be beaten if you have friends.only letdown for me is i wish the online bit was more of a community where you can add friends easily. i think the grapics are fine so the under powerd side dosent bother me

I heard all the hype about the nintendo wii when it first came out. I thought this console was not going to take off. but BOY was i WRONG! the wii took us all by surprise. I brought a wii not because i want brilliant graphics, but i want to be able to feel the game i am playing, and the wii does exactly that. The wii also brings families together. I know people who wouldn't even touch a hand controller, and now seeing them playing bowling and golf on the wii and having a great time. My friends family are the most miserable family you can imagine but the wii makes them smile when they play together.

Getting to the point on the wii in general, its backwards compatible allow you to play your old gamecube games and also allows you to use the gamecube controller and memory card. You can also use an SD card to transfer files over, pictures etc. and connect to the internet to find the latest weather reports in your area.

The wii has dominated the other consoles in the market and will continue to impress, because of its ability to add more features to this superior games console. LAST NOTE: BUY A NINTENDO WII.

C'mon - its the Wii - the console everyone thought was sure to flop - graphics not as good as the competition, no built in harddrive, etc etc, but its gameplay is unreal - its THE console to have in the house if you are havin a few mates around.
I never thought I would buy another console - since my PS2 sat in a cupboard unused for years - was always cheaper and better to play games on my puter, but this I can play againt the kids, and have a ball.
Would recommend to anyone - only thing against it is some of the addons are quire expensive.

The only exercise you get on the xbox and playstation is eye ache and athritis of the fingers and joints, I needed something challenging, something to keep me fit so, the Wii fit was the solution (especially after so many recomendations). I bought the Wii first and tried out the baseball first...2 hours later, i tried tennis (another hour and plenty of water) and then the boxing!!.......well the next morning, i was aware of two things, 1, DAMN !! this thing was good and 2, DAMN!! i cannot wait to get the wii fit!! this is the closest thing to bringing good old fashioned play from the outside, INSIDE!..put simply...a couch potato killer!! be warned..
by the way, my wii fit arrived from the shops (69.99 and not these sharks selling for 110 plus) and straight away, it starts to impress you with your balance, fitness and agility or the lack thereof. the wireless is amazing as you can zero in to your city for your weather and also get news from around the world "LITERALLY " so that just made the wii an even better purchase, especially if you are a family as the competition (on a level playing field) will be enormous so go and get one, you will not be sorry and enjoy yourself.

Love, love love it, what is there to dislike? nothing. the whole family are Wii addicts, even a husband who hates any pc games etc full stop, sadly I have married a hula hoop geek!! from a neice of 6 yrs to my dad at 65 everyone who has had a go loves the vareity of games, from golf to skiing. My son has special needs and repetative exercise is excellent to help him with balance this covers all the exercise he needs, but it is fun, it doesnt matter if you take ages to master a game, I found the yoga excellent, the muscles exercise really work. the kids really work out, the Wii even weighs and calculates your fitness level, I was an 56 obese woman!! (im 43 really) but seeing how low my fitness level was, really makes you want to work out, Im pleased to say after only 22 days Im now a 45 year overweight woman, determined to get to ideal weight before christmas!! please buy you wont know what you did without it!!

OMG this is a fantastic buy, so easy to set up, think am going to get fit using it, although I think the Body Mass Index test is way off the mark lol had my 17 year old and his girlfriend in stiches when my result came back, hee hee it gave me the kick I needed and boy it is fun to play, I am a big fan of the PS3 but this way better.

I was origanly looking to find about consoles, parts, games. I bought the email address, they were ok but not really at all what i was looking for. The sites are very slim on whats avalible if you want stuff that works for resonable price, and as yet ive not seen any consoles, the first two sites werent for me as there not really combined stock you just bid on single items, but the bounus site was slightly better but again its great if you have the technology to fix tv's or you have lots of cash, im trying to start in business with not a lot of cash. the things on the auctions were more for the established user. i dont know anyone else who does this a business and i have no idea where to start so i cant compaire to any where else, but it seamed to be good if you have thousands of pounds but if you dont you have to settle for broken tv's and electrical equipment or a pallet of garden furniture, or 100's of not so classy fake fashion handbags. so the choice is your it wasnt for me but it might be for you! the product was as discribed and recived quickly spot on! thanks

Massive amounts of fun to be had with this console. I have Xbox 360's, and Xbox and 2 DS consoles but none are as instantly playable as the Wii.

It is a birthday present for me as well as a birthday present for my wife.
My son has one and we thought it would be great for us, it is.

Easy to install, easy to use wiimote (even for our 5 yr old) - great fun for the whole family and sweat can be pouring down if you're getting into it ;)

Absolute 'wannahave' for fun loving families! (and singles can probably also have great fun with it :)
