My advice to anyone thinking of buying this album because they heard Maria, just buy the single off iTunes. All the other tracks on the album are okay but nothing special. In fact, I'd say some tracks are pretty dull considering the quality and history of the artist. Maybe a little too long in the tooth?
Having just watched a great documentary about Blondie on television, I decided to buy the latest album, No Exit. The album contains the fantastic track Maria whilst the remaining tracks prove that Debbie, Chris and the band have not lost any of their original flavour. Having always been a fan of the original Blondie albums, the new album is excellent and a great addition to my collection.
Well hello ive been a Blondie fan since the early age of 8 years old im now 35 and i still buy and listen to her music nearly every day, she is just as strong today as she was when it all started and she was even beter when she played here in Plymouth not so long ago well if your reading this i recomend a Blondie Cd to anyone Long live Blondie keep going girl your great
I feel that Blondie have not written any bad material and I love Debbie Harry's ( and the bands)interpretation of old material and approach to new . As a single ' Maria' was outstanding but the album as a whole is exciting and vibrant. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who likes Blondie or Joan Jett, or Pat Benatar. The material is all good and can be played over and over again without losing its appeal.
'Screaming Skin' is another instance of 'Blondie' creating an amazing song from what at first thought is somewhat dubious material. I am only missing the first CD now and urge you to try Blondie if you have not yet done so. This CD is as good a start as any other.
If you are reading this review you will agree with me that there is nothing to dislike about Blondie......collect!!
