The Devil Wears Prada (DVD)

It was an OK film, but not for blokes. The lead girl was beautiful though. It was the usual American style story of a lowly person who is stupid/uncool but makes good and wins over the nasty boss. Nothing really new and done in the normal manner for this type of film. They seem to churn out loads of this type of story, but this one was closely related to the fashion industry so may have struck a chord with some women. I bought it for my wife, but even she thought it wasn't up to much.

The DVD seemed to be out of synch and the volume was very low.

For some reason I missed this film when it was on the big screen, but I wanted to see it as all the newspaper reviews that I had read had been positive. And I was able to buy it cheaply on ebay! I wasn't sure what to expect. but with Meryl Streep starring in it I knew that it had to be good. Basically it is a classy, well-acted chick flick, well worth watching - but not mind-blowing. The acting by the two leading ladies is excellent and they are both ably supported by Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt. If you want a night in, this light,funny film should be just what you're after!

Love this film, my flat mate read the book and wanted to watch the film so grabbed a bargain and brought it, loved it and would recommend it to others

Great film starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway.
When Andy first got the job she was a pushover and I don't think she relised the type of job that she had got herself into. She has near to no fashion sense even though she had landed herself a job in the fashion industry.
But.......that all changed when the person she works alongside with was ill so she couldn't go on the trip with Miranda,so that meant Andy going.That is when the new Andy came out and Miranda saw how good she really was,but it took it's toll on Andy who had enough and quit.
a very good movie that I would rate highly.

I bought this having read the book and I was interested to see how they brought it to life.

Inevitably, the film has less complexity than the book, but it was true to the spirit of the original on the whole.

It's a fun, lighthearted film - just right for when you want undemanding entertainment. The performances are excellent and the characterisation spot on.

So perhaps not a 'must see', but none the less I'd happily recommend it for a lazy Saturday night with a bottle of wine!

This is a feel good romantic comedy based on a book. Good story line but still the traditional boy meets girl, boy loses type thing. Love the fashion and makeup in this movie and wouldn't mind having the soundtrack. Great for a girly night in.
Anne Hathaway plays a very good role from supposed ugly duckling to swan and sort of back again. Meryl Streep plays an excellent bitch you almost want to slap her. Anyway don't want to give too much of the story line away but this one is definately worth a watch.

Really enjoyed this movie. A great girlie film that was very well written and amusing. A must for a girlie night in watching a movie.

I bought the DVD as I had really enjoyed reading the book.

The DVD was good and I enjoyed it. I watched it a few times as it's an easy watch nothing too tasking on the brain.

However the DVD/film did cut alot out of the book and in parts I was disappointed that they hadn't shown the scene in more detail.However my eldest daughter who hasn't read the book disagrees with me and just loves the DVD.

DVD was good but not as good as I expected. Too many important details and comical moments that were in the book never made it over to the DVD. The movie seemed bland compared with the book.

Overall I was happy with my purchase and thoroughly impressed with the service provided by the seller.

Great film, very easy to watch and quite funny in parts. If you love the fashion industry and it's fickle ways it's must.

this is very good for the price and a very good dvd i decided to buy it for my teenage daughter.so she can watch it when all her friends come around

I really didnt enjoy this film but im more into action,comedy,thriller.I found it draged on and didnt really make me want to stay in my seat.

ITS A TOTAL CHICK FLICK BUT I LOVE THIS MOVIE!! MERYL STREEP SHOWS US WHY SHE BECAME SUCH A STAR, PLAYING EVIL EDITOR, MIRANDA. REALLY FUNNY, IRONIC AND, AT TIMES SAD. DEFINATELY ONE THAT ALL THE GIRLS SHOULD WATCH BUT BOYS MAY FIND IT TEDIOUS!

Emily Blunt & Meryl Streep are fantastic, the rest of the cast are disney standard but great chewing gum for the brain material... distorted morals cloud viewing as the ugly betty esque lead actress blossoms into a power dressing equal to her dragon of a boss forgetting her initial girl power individualism and reluctance to embrace the seedier side of the fashion elite proudly announcing at the end of the film she has reached the size 4 perfection she ridiculed at the start...

Really enjoyed this film. Refreshing ideas with some good characters an acting. Good storyline too.Get he popcorn out!

I HAD READ MIXED REVIWS ON THIS DVD, BUT STILL WANTED TO WATCH IT AND MAKE UP MY OWN MIND. I WAS GLAD I DID AS I REALLY ENJOYED IT AND THOUGHT THE ACTING WAS BRILLIANT, ESPECIALLY MERYL STREEP. I COULD WATCH THIS FILM AGAIN AND ENJOY IT JUST AS MUCH AS THE FIRST TIME.

Fun, girly film, loved Anne Hathaway in the film, not seen her before. Meryl Streep as usual brilliant. Bought it when I saw it advertised on Ebay at the reasonable price of £2 - bargain! Will be on the lookout for more films to watch in the romantic comedy genre.

I first watched this movie at the cinema and had to buy it, i can watch it again and agian and each time i feel so good. the movie is funny and soppy it really gets the tears rolling, its all round entertainment and the acting is superb on all parts.A definate feel good factor movie one you can keep to watch again and again, definately recommended. x

A great comedy for all those influenced (even just a little bit!) by the fashion world. A wonderfully black sense of humour and a happy ending makes this a great girls night in film.

This film is brilliant to watch. Its fun and had even my partner laughing!! moves along very quickly with no quiet "spots." Overall a very enjoyable film that i would definitly recommend to all.
