One of Meatloaf's best albums, although it is not one of the 'Bat' albums, it is still very good indeed.
I remember listening to this album on tape as a child, and thinking 'This is GOOD music', and now that I'm older, and wiser, I still agree that this is VERY GOOD music indeed.
Even if you havent heard of meatloaf, get this album, it can also be used as an introduction to the kick-ass music of Meatloaf, from here, you can listen to the 'Bat' albums.
i wanted to buy it as a gift for my mum, but the cd never arrived!! so i cant really review it as theres nothing to review. still very angry over this.
I brought Meat Loaf welcome to the neighbourhood cd because I do love his music, and I wanted to replace the cd for I only had it on tape. if you like rock and roll you will like Meat Loaf
It's hard to beat JIm Steinmann on pure spectacular, operatic rock but this collection (principally from other composers) allows Meat Loaf the use of a more subtle and calmer style. Beautiful songs like Not A Dry Eye In The House are worded, scored and sung to inflict maximum emotional response. This is one to try if the pounding rock rythms of other Meat Loaf albums leave you flat or with a headache! Lovers of rock will love this too!
