For the life of me I will never remember the two main actors names. But laugh my ass off everytime I see this. From beginning to end, you know how these guys are feeling. First scene. Getting there shorts pulled down in front of all the girls in the school gym. Brilliant. My favourite scene is when they are in the toilet. The one liners. " Your dropping wolf bate and theres chicks outside". And the rest will make you cry till your aching. If you never seen this , buy it. I`m going to watch it right now.

woohoo, John Hughes at his best
Review created: 20/02/08

John Hughes revolutionised teen films in the 80s and set the staple for years to come.

Pre-Ferris Bueller, Hughes made some other famous films (Breakfast Club, 16 candles) but this is the cheekiest of the lot.

Two geeks (natuarally) combat their geekdom by using early internet to create a woman!

It's not as stupid as it sound!

There's some brilliant characterization and narrative that sparks with humour and off the wall moments.

A note has to be said for Anthony Michael Hall who is outstanding as a pre-testicles dropped teenager.

  classic 80s movie
Review created: 07/09/07

I bought this because I grew up in the 80s and remember thinking it was such a cool film first time around. Watching again now, you're reminded of the outrageous fashion and music that were around at the time. The film also has that wonderful innocent and happy feel to it, like so many of the 80s films such as Breakfast Club and Pretty In Pink.

It's very dated now but a great film that makes you recall what a fantastic time it was to grow up in.

What a classic 1980's film. Such memories ofthis . Very funny and clever. The mall scence is so funny .Proves how kids can be mean to each other but when the geek gets a stunning girl friend the tables turn. Sheer fun.

  Weird Science - It's a Classic!

Weird Science is directed by John Hughes who also brought you Ferris Beuller's Day Off and The Breakfast Club. Together with these films, in my opinion makes the ultimate 80's Comedy selections.

The story centres around Gary (Antony Michael Hall) and Wyatt (Ilan Mitchell-Smith), two high school students with no friends, who are picked on by Wyatt's older brother (Bill Paxton) and if that wasnt bad enough they are also tormented by the 'cool' school bullies Ian (Robert Downey Jr) and Max (Robert Rusler),they have no social life, and what seems most important to them, they cant get girlfriends. They spend their weekends together watching films and generally not getting up to much....until they hatch a plan....to make their dream girl on Wyatt's computer.

The following scenes show a lot of stereotypical 80's computer graphics which were quite advanced when this film was released, but look retro now(a bit like 'Tron'). Ultimately their wildest dreams come true when they manage to produce their dream woman 'Lisa'(Kelly LeBrock)

Lisa makes it her aim to build up the boys confidence, so that they can achieve their goal of having girlfriends, this is done via a series of challenges.
This film is hilarious. If as a teenager you ever dreamt of making your dream woman, then film is definately a must for you!

Although clearly based at a predominantly male audience, i thoroughly enjoyed it, and would recommend it time and time again...it's on my favourite films of all time list.
