Psychostick - We Couldn't Think Of A Title (CD 2007)

Once in a while a band comes along with a fresh new idea on how to play music and it really shows on Psychostick's first album. Mixing comedy with music is something not unheard of but has never been executed as well as Psychostick when it comes to Metal.
The material is mainly of the Metalcore variety. Heavy guitars, catchy melodies and the use of both clean and shouted vocals throughout but its not your average Metalcore with samey sounding tracks on this record. This is where the lyrics shine making each song sound individual throughout. Rob gets many points for talking about a wide variety of subjects from women to how he thinks he sucks at life to words you make up in the spur of the moment, food, sleep, sex, beer, how is car is falling to bits, itchy balls and how he hates doing laundry!
There are 20 songs on this CD (including bonus tracks) each one packed with hilarious lyrics and really heavy metal. Usually bands who try to do this sort of thing either focus on the heavynedd of the music or the lyrical content and not both. Psychostick has hit both nails on the head brilliantly and crafted a memorable album thatll have you laughing whilst headbanging. Good work guys and I look forwards to your next full length album. 9/10.
