This wrestlemania had a lot to live up to after the amazing WM17 in Housten Texa the year before. The main matchs, Austin v Scott Hall, Hogan v The Rock, HHH v Chris Jerico were all amazing and stole the show, especaly The Rock V Hogan and its god- unpredictable ending. The other matchs were average- none of the were poor really but its WM, and they should be above average. The extras are pretty good and worth watching, and the DVD as a whole is worth getting- being one of the Best WMs of all time.
wrestlemania 8 hours long dis y it gud aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan interestingly gud dvd
Having converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this film gem in digital format. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included. There's only a 20-minute interview with the director and other shot "making-of" vignettes. lol.
I Chose to purchase this DVD mainly because it is one of the best Wrestlemanias there has been, and yet it is now unavailable to buy in shops, just because the company changed its name from WWF to WWE. I feel this is a stupid reason to discontinue a whole brand of dvd's. The wrestling itself was excellent. Many great moments, my favourite being the Rock vs Hogan match. Easily one of the best matches in wrestlemania history. I cant really complain about the dvd or its contents. A must have, on all accounts, for any wrestling fanatic.
wrestlemania 18 is a great wrestlemania! the matches were great. some of the best matches on the card i think were:
kane vs kurt angle this match was great. fantastic skills from angle and great power from the big red machine. at one point angle pulls kanes mask off revealing a bit of his face. in the end though angle pulls out the victory. great match 5/5
undertaker vs ric flair no holds barred match these two had a massive rilvalry at that time, undertaker went as far as beating ric flairs son up in order to get this match. the actual match was a bit dissapointing though because it was a no holds barred match and i think only undertaker hit flair with one chair shot. but it picked up near the end when taker hit flair with a nasty tombstone piledriver to pick up the win and knock his undefeated streak up to 10-0. 4/5
Hogan vs the rock this match was phenominal, best of the night. the fans were clearly cheering for hogan but that didnt stop the rock as he rock bottemed his way to earn a well deserved victory over the hulkster. the aftermath was great when hogan and rock shook hands, thats a great sign of respect and the fans loved it. great match 5******/5
scott hall vs stone cold steve austin this match was great austin hits three stunners on hall in the end to pick up the victory. during the match kevin nash comes down to the ring in favor of hall but ends up getting beaten up by austin. good match 4.5/5
chris jericho vs triple h for the wwf and world heavyweight championships this match was great aswell, hhh hits a couple of pedigrees to jericho during the match but kicks out, vise versa with the walls of jericho. but in the end hhh hit one more pedigree to pick up the win. the aftermath was also quite funny when hhh pedigreed stephanie. great match 5*/5
all in all this is not a wrestlemania to forget, whoever is thinking of getting it GET IT!!!! overall dvd rating 5*****/5
A record crowd of 68,237 gatherd in toronto to witness history in the making & a match no one thought was possible. Plus...musical performances by Drowning Pool & Saliva. Evrey match on this DVD was great, here are some of the very best:
The Rock vs Hollywood Hulk Hogan Chris Jericho vs Triple H Ric Flair vs Undertaker Kane vs Kurt Angle Stone Cold vs Scott Hall
Defentley one of the best wrestlemania's ever, if not the best. Loads and loads of extra's crammed on to these 2 disk's with over 9 hours of action. If you want something to remember the WWF days by, this should be defentley a contender.
Wrestlemania X8 is a discontinued title from the World Wrestling Federation. This came to pass after they were sued by the World Wildlife Fund for the use or their iniials WWF. The World Wrestling Federation nows trades as World Wrestling Entertainment and no longer makes this title meaning that it can no longer be bought first hand in shops or online resulting in a limited amount being available.
The product itself is extremely desirable because of the main event between Hollywood Hulk Hogan and The Rock which was Hogan's first big match since returning to the WWF/WWE. The atmosphere was electric and the match easily the best in the promotion from the last five years. Other highlights included matches with Steve Austin,Scott Hall,Kevin Nash,Ric Flair,The Undertaker and Rob Van Dam.
Extras were a little weak as per usual with these dvds. So much more could have been fitted onto the two discs but what is there is pretty good.
Overall it's one of the better Wretlemanias with not much touching it since.
I bought the DVD because the event was great and I didn't have it on DVD. The Rock vs Hulk Hogan match may not have been the best but the crowd atmosphere was second to none. The DVD disc itself is in perfect condition and the case is mint.
The title is also a WWF title therefore it is deleted and will be very rare in the coming years.
Great DVD for both entertainment value and sentimental value.
