Vivitar ViviCam 3105s Digital Camera

Ok, weather you buy this camera depends on what you want to use is for. I found that it makes a great present for a young person, probably a teenager. It's not great for moments where you need to quickly switch on your camera and take a photo, as it takes some time to switch on and has some bad shutter lag, I also found that the camera has a very short battery life. I've given up with taking photos with mine although I do still use it as a webcam and it also makes a great memory card reader.

Yes I know the Vivitar ViviCam 3105s is cheap, but this can not be used as an excuse to justify the appalling overall quality of the camera! It is constructed of very cheap flimsy plastic and there appears to be a common fault with the little flap that covers the USB port, (the little usb cover is so poorly designed it just simply doesn't fit and remains dangling off the camera at all times)! For A small basic camera the menu is unnecessarily fiddly and the picture quality should be an embarrassment to Vivitar, with close up mode a complete waste of time!
I believe this camera was marketed toward the child-teenager age group but in my opinion I think it should have been marketed as a play thing for 3 - 4 year olds as it is constructed to a Christmas cracker standard! If you are purchasing for an older child don't be at all surprised by their look of disappointment when they realise that this camera is total poop compared to the built in cameras they have on their mobile phones!
If you are looking to purchase this model off ebay as we did it may be worth questioning why there are so many listed as only used once etc! (it's probably because they realise that the camera is rubbish and want to shift it on quickly as possible)!
Yes, I'm aware there are people out there who enjoy this product but I personally believe you can get more for your money elsewhere!

This camera is very small, light and is quite simple to turn on point and take a picture. Perfect for a first camera in that respect. But anything beyond that can be hard to master. for example, taking pictures in dim light is a nightmare as once you activate the flash and take the picture, the whole picture is bright white. The zoom isn't that great either to be honest, it's ok if you want to 'zoom in' on something 3 feet away. I got this camera, brand new, for under £20 and that's about how much it's worth!

I bought this camera as a gift for someone.
The price was very attractive.
Its a real shame that the pictures on the screen keep flicking,I guess it is probably a faulty camera.

I bought the Vivitar Vivicam 3150s Digital Camera for an older friend. Technically she prefers things simple and basic. The first problem was downloading the software and driver, once accepted then the USB lead would not communicate with computer so had to buy a card reader to solve the problem.
Whilst taking photos is a fairly straight forward process, deleting and doing other processes seem long winded and complicated. I have an I.T. Works Digital Camera which I find much easier to use and understand.
This is not a Camera I would recommend. Having said that I'm sure the more technically minded wouldn't necessarily have the same complications we experienced.

Bought this a few weeks back, delivery took a good while. when i got it I noticed it didn't work, after sifting through the description, I found written way at the bottom "power button desn't work at the mo". I took it to get it fixed and the power supply in the unit was diagnosed as broken. cost me a good repair bill to. Wouldn't buy of this seller again.

i liked this simple digital camera easy to use screen fair size very easy to set up on to my home pc to download the photos plus it takes a memeroy card so you can store more pic great first digital camera for a child or adult nice size and weight

This is a great, handy, compact camera which takes good photos.
My other digital wasn't very good, had blurred pictures no matter what I did, so I wanted another small camera which did take decent photos.
You can move the camera to get exactly what picture you want, and zoom in if you have to. I can finally take photos to send to my relatives online!

Bought it as a spare for my wife. I would figure, having seen some related adverts, that this was a free gift to the seller from a promotion. The value to me however is good. The product is compact and very usable. Coincidentally I purchased a neat mobile phone from the seller ,having lost my own. This was not advertised on ebay. Regarding the camera, overall a gainful purchase with no downside.

very basic camera bought for my daughter, i didn't expect much from it before buy, so the picture quality wasn't the issue, but what is horrible is the awfully and difficult to go through menu and extremaly poor battery life, and on top of that dark and strange 'untrue' lcd colors. stay away from it - there are better cheap cameras, even still from vivtar.

you can change the picture to vga for 9 takes dont need an sd card
normal shot is 2. It has ok picture quality on video 9 shot quite sharp focus but not great though also has lead and carry bag blue silver or black

not the best camera in the world but was ideal for my 6 year olds nephew xmas present. picture quality is poor for far away pics but close ups r ok.

Poor Build Quality, Low Spec, Poor Image Quality ....... I could go on but I won't. Hopefully, after reading just these few lines, I will have put you off sufficiently from buying a 3150s Digital Camera. There are far better starter cameras out there (consider Fuji, Canon or Nikon) than Vivitar's beginner 3105s and it will be money well spent if you avoid their (Vivitars) 'New to Digital' offering. The camera performs dreadfully in low-light applications and no more than adequately when used outside. Buttons are grouped close together and make operating the camera difficult and the camera menus are fussy and a real pain to navigate. Best avoid ..... unless of course you like the colour Pink!

I bought this camera to take pictures for my make up portfolio for college. It being pink in colour is what attracted me, the price was very reasonable too. I love it!!

the only thing i can say that i dont like about it- is that the flash can be a bit bright sometimes.
a part from that its exactly what i was expecting it to be and take good quality photos.

Cheap and cheerful camera. Bought it for my teenage daughter. I also purchased a digital photo frame. As even though it can not save many photos with the use of 2 sd cards and allow her to swop them round when needed in the photo frame. If you want reasonably high quality photos this is not the camera for you. But as a second one for your children in a trendy pink colour at a reasonable price. This is perfect.

The camera arrived very promptly but I was disappointed with it. I was expecting it to be slightly better quality and didn't realise the limited memory stick that came with it. I was probably being a bit niave to think that it should have been any better quality as I paid quite a low price for the item.

I bought this camera for my 4 year old son's birthday and for this purpose it is great. It is fairly easy to use and good for small hands and fits into small bags or pockets easily. My older son also has a vivitar camera and he loves it. I do think it looks a bit cheap and nasty but for the price I'm not complaining. I wouldn't say it was meant for a main family camera but is fine for knocking about with.
