Well what can i say... I've always thought Coldplay were the perfect band for creating albums which offered 2 or 3 fantastic tracks 2 each, and there really is no change. Even though this being the first album of their's i've come to own, this album in my own oppinion is no different from the rest. They have become more creative and more experimental which is the damaging blow and shame to the album Viva La Vida. If you are a die hard fan you'll probably buy the album anyway but dont expevt the best.
3 descent tracks- 8,9,10 7 unexplainable
I say back 2 the drawing board and create someting with more normality.
Coldplay Vida La Vida cd is a great album great sounding music. They did well.I hope they make another like it.I brought it because it sounded good and it was.
WOW what an album superb the long awaited album from coldplay. Best album bought this year for me. The beats and rhymes with this is stunning sounds the dogs.
This album is no rush of blood to the head, but still a very good album by Coldplay. Slightly different to the other 3 outstanding albums but there is nothing wrong with a slight diverse of style. Violet Hill is very catchy and grows on you. I like the track 3 - Lost! but am not keen on track 6 Yes, more like a B side track. This album is deffinately worth adding to the collection.
I bought the album for my brother but like them anyway. Ccldplay are a excellent band good songwriters, and this album is no different with plenty of effort put into it. Very good.
I was very excited when I heard that Coldplay had a new album out. That is until I heard it, the album has 2 good songs max and the rest are what you would expect to find on filler bonus disc or compilation cd. Complete waste of money that says to me that the boys were feeling the pinch and needed a cash insertion. Would not suggest anyone buy this album.
This IS a 5* album, all the songs are definitely great to listen too, just because they have changed their theme slightly doesn't mean its not a great album! All the songs are great, and although Coldplay go for a non-vocal opening track, I believe it really works as the combination of chords really set the album up for something good.
This great music; anyone who loves coldplay or any other band similar to them will love this album, it deserves number one, and can only acheive it if you buy! You won't be disappointed: I was slightly put off by some reviews, but then saw it cheap on Ebay and decided to buy it and I am not disappointed, and I I'd known it was this good I wouldn't have begrudged paying full whack for it!
I listened to Parlophone's Youtube tacks from this album and bought it the next day. I was thoroughly hooked on the singles Viva la Vida and Violet Hill. I think it's their ability to write catchy songs that use syncopation.
I would recommend this album to any Coldplay fan. It's not their best album, though it may be the start of their journey to creating one. There's new ideas on show here, with insistent drumming and angrier guitar.
Highlights include Lost! and Death and All His Friends. It's a rollercoaster with long moments of pause and preparation for the tremendous highs.
I have listened to this on their Myspace site hence the early review. This was meant to be the album Coldplay are remembred for and it will be for the wrong reasons. Many of the songs are overcomplicated and some even change completely half way through a song and one song has no lyrics whatsoever. I am a huge Coldplay fan and have more songs by them than anyone on my ipod but there will be no more added on this occasion. I think they have tried too hard to make a great album, many songs have a Asian sound with instruments that don't fit. Also you hear more of a violin than you do of Chris Martin's voice on the entire album. No doubt the album will do well and people will buy it because it is Coldplay but vey few will keep it in their favourites.
