As the first Libertines album, this was purchased to complete the Peter Doherty collected recordings. Whereas there isn't a really weak track on the album, it does not stand up against the Libs second outing & everything pails against his latest, Shotter's Nation, but, there again isn't this how great artists should progress?
Where shall i start, i got into this album in 2004 when unfortunately the libertines split up, however this and there second album have changed my music tastes, this up the bracket album has very gd music and perfection of lyrics, i would suggest to people to buy it cause it is in the top 10 best albums in rock music ever, xx
The excellent debut album for The Libertines. Contains some of the best punk/indie songs of the decade from the heroin infuled 'Death on the stairs' to the anthemic 'Time for Heros'. A very worthwhile investment for anyone who appreciates good music!
I just love this CD, as i love listening to the Libertines, what more can i say. I like it particularly because the lyrics describe how there lives are as 'libertines' and are very capturing. Its a very uplifting and foot tapping cd and good to sing or shout along to. I have no dislikes about the album and would recommend it to all fans of the 'rock n roll' lifestyle.
this album is absolute class! although there are no really well-known songs on this album like there are on 'the libertines' overall the songs are a lot better. songs such as 'the boy looked at johnny', 'time for heroes' and 'horror show' make this album an absolute classic! this album is brilliant and in my opinion if you take out 'cant stand me now' and 'what became of the likely lads' is a lot lot better then the libertines second album! i suggest u buy!
