Tupelo Honey is one of those timeless albums that captures Van at his peak. The title track found its way onto Van's third 'best of' collections (although the version featured here is the original and is significantlt better that the duet version featured on 'Best of Volume 3'). A version of the opening track (Wild Night) featured in Ridley Scott's 'Thelma and Louise' movie soundtrack, although again, this version is far superior to the movie version which featured Martha Reeves. Of all of Van's albums, and I have most, this is the one I return to more than any other. It's the perfect Sunday morning, reading the paper over a cup of coffee album. Faultless from the opening chord to the last.
