Loved this as a teenager, had on LP.... now filling up the IPOD was looking back at madonna tracks, this i think is one of the best albums of the early 90;s so catchy and dancey it sums up the party time we were all having.
I love this cd cos its all the old songs that i never had in my collection and i am not so keen on madonna's newer stuff, i would like to say great album. The song Papa don't preach is brilliant and still played alot on magic radio which prompted me to look on ebay for it, thanks.
hi great cd one of the best classics and in excellent condtion. I BOUGHT CD BECAUSE I LIKE MADONNA AND SOME SOUND TRACKS ARE GREAT TO LISTEN TO . THE REASON I BOUGHT IT WAS MINE BROKE AND I NEEDED ANOTHER CD AND IT'S VERY RARE YOU CAN GET THEM IN SHOPS THE OLD CDS.
I did have this on tape once but obviously it was a bit dated. I had been looking for a CD version for a while so I was really pleased when I found this. It works perfectly and I'm really pleased with the CD.
It was great to be able to get this CD for such a great price It was in fantastic condition with a first class delivery. ebay, the ideal place to find that one item that you cannot seem to get anywhere else. Help each other by selling what you don't want because some one else does.
"True Blue" was Madonna's third album, and saw her continue to collaborate with Stephen Bray and begin to work with Patrick Leonard who would later work with her again on "Like A Prayer". Unlike "Madonna" and "Like a Virgin", Madonna was starting to take control - she wrote or co-wrote every song on the album, and is credited with co-producing every track.
The album was recorded in late 1985/early 1986, during the first year of Madonna's marriage to Sean Penn. She dedicated the album to him, and one song "Jimmy Jimmy" hints at her father's disapproval of her relationship with a bad boy - something that Penn was often called by the press. Still, the honeymoon mood comes through the title track which sounds like an '80s version of a motown tune. There is a feeling a newness and optimism. Looking at the cover, Madonna is completely different to what we knew before and she experiments with new sounds such as the Spanish pop of "La Isla Bonita" and "Love Makes The World Go Round". In addition, she sampled a film soundtrack (Jimmy Cagney speaking in the film "White Heat") which she'd never done before. One of the songs "Live To Tell" shows a much maturer side to Madonna and proved that she could sing. Controversy still reared "Papa Don't Preach" (which was one of four number ones taken from the album) upset some people because of its lyrical content.
Despite this, "True Blue" is a multi-million selling '80s classic and is definately one of the great dance-pop albums of all time. It's a record that demonstrates Madonna's true skills as a songwriter, record-maker, provocateur, and entertainer through its sheer sense of fun.
I bought this album bacause I'm trying to own all Madonna's albums on C.D rather than the original tape format I have them on. This was one of my favourite albums when I was around 12 but when I listened to it recently I wasn't so keen. This was Madonna's third album and it has a very dated 80's sound. Don't get me wrong there are some really good songs, 'True Blue' and 'White heat', inparticular. But it's not an album you would tend to listen to again and again because Madonna's music is so much better today. If your a fan buy it to add to your collection and listen to it when you fancy thinking back about the good old days!

Most Madonna fans prefer this era, this was when she was just the dancing queen of pop and what a queen, there are some gems on this album that get no air play such as Jimmy,Jimmy,White Heat,Love makes the world go round,if you love the 80s then you've got to love Madonna.
