Tristan And Isolde (DVD)

Ridley Scott definitely had a hand in this film. The settings and costumes are sumptuous and really draw up a wonderful image of the early centuries. The story is as old and has been worked on for time immemorial, the triangle. The lovers seperated by honour and obligations.
This story is so much easier than wading through Wagner's treatment of the subject matter. The celtic myth reworked into something absolutely stunning in its scope and the acting is outstanding.
It just so happened that I watched the Duelists by Ridley Scott (1977) the night before, and his choice of costumes and stunning sceneries are already making their mark, and in Tristan and Isolde you still get to feel his influence.
All in all a great film to watch.

i bought it coz i fell in love with sophia myles after moonlight and that episode of doctor who with madame de pompidoure!... lol... and i watched the preview on youtube and decided to buy it!... the film was very good!... i love a good romantic film!.... theres not anything i really dont like about it!... lol.... love the cast and the ending was sad but o well!

I love this type of historical, romantic, adventure type film anyway, but this is definately one of the best, in a while. It is well acted, has a great story line and soundtrack, just a treat. The dvd extras are good too; they can sometimes be a bit of a let down, but I was impressed.
All round brill film, would definately recommend :-)

I really enjoyed this film. entertaining the whole way through. passionate, heartbreaking, interesting, action packed & historical. all in all a great movie!

It is a great story of 'almost' love and the things that can get in the way, for example being Daughter of the King and promised to another.
Tristan fights for Isolde for his King not realising she is the same woman who saved his life and he fell in love with.
It is a fantastic story of Love & War in the medeival times.
