Tomtom Tom Tom GO300 GPS Receiver

Entry level tomtom sat nav device, since been replaced by the tomtom one (Which is much the same, only more compact). Easy to use even for the beginner, you can either type in, via the 3.5" touchscreen, the town then road name (even the street number) or the postcode and it will take you straight there. You can store your frequently visited places so you don't have to re-type address each time. Very useful, especially if you have speed camera locations loaded on it (Might pay for itself in saved fines !)
There are many free websites where you can download POI's (Points of Interest) like swimming pools, congestion charge zones or a particular shop brand. (You may need a bigger SD card for large quantities, I recommend a 512Mb)
Beware, thieves love them, mine was stolen, I have the upgraded 510 now but the 300 is just the same when it comes to directions and after all, that's what it's for. Bin your maps and get one !

You'll find a good used 300 on ebay for just over £100, good luck.

Tom tom go, well, it’s a sat nav device that hooks up to a satellite by GPS. This entry model sure is better than other I've tried out. It's quick & easy to use, not bad for a beginner. You type in a postcode or street name and it will guide you there will little or no bother. When a road it is taking you to is inaccessible it will reroute you, but you first have to continue away from the guided route down unknown roads before it click on that you don’t wish to go that way. But hey it's better than a road map ;-)

You can store you home address giving you one touch route home. You can also store other locations so that you don’t have to retype them in, just pick form a saved list.

This great little unit also warns of known speed camera locations and accident hot spots, it also warns of know speed restrictions (you must of course buy the add on's)

You can also download other things, for example point of interest & congestion charge zones.

PLEASE BEWARE:- Lock your tom tom up in your glove box or boot and remove any marks for the windscreen before you leave your car unattended. Trust me, thieves know what to look out for.

I love this piece of hardware,it assists me where speed cameras are,and makes sure i dont speed through them,and it also makes sure i dont speed when i shouldnt,and it obviously tells me where to go when i need it,all in all,it is money well spent.

very user friendly, excellent screen size and readabillity, threw my blue media rubbish across my van in complete disapointment, it never in three years took me to the right place , always two or three streets away , it was a complete waste of time , , tried the tom tom 300 and it was fantastic in comparison,it is a pleasure to jump in the van and know i was going to arive at the right destination,.

Bought this em after mine was stolen, it has all the add ons that you could possibly have on a tom tom. Was absolutely delighted and it is in daily use. Bought for a reasonable price considering that is all singing and dancing.
