Entry level tomtom sat nav device that replaced the tomtom 300 and classic GO, this model is much slimmer than its predecessors, meaning you can slip it in your pocket for safe keeping. Easy to use even for the beginner, you can either type in town then road name (even the street number) on its 3.5" inch touchscreen, or the postcode and it will take you straight there. You can store your frequently visited places so you don't have to re-type the address each time. Very useful, especially if you have speed camera locations loaded on it (Might pay for itself in saved fines !)
There are many free websites where you can download POI's (Points of Interest) like swimming pools, congestion charge zones or a particular shop brand. (You may need a bigger SD card for large quantities, I recommend a 512Mb)
Beware, thieves love them, always take it out of the car with you, also remove the bracket from the window or they might break-in just to check it's not under the seat or in the glove box.
I have the upgraded 510 now but the tomtom one is just the same when it comes to directions and after all, that's what it's for. Bin your maps and get ONE !

You can also try one of the other offers, most are gambling offers. Don't skip this step! You must complete this step to get your free iPhone!
Step 3 : Refer some friends
This part is a lot easier than it seems, especially now with free iPhone sites getting so popular. There's lots of people online who want a free iPhone too, so start referring them! You only need to get a few signups before you'll be finished. You can ask your friends or your online buddies. I already got a free PS3, Wii, and XBOX Elite without even having to ask my friends for help - there's lots of people online who want a free iPhone like you! One of the easiest ways to get a referral is to do a favour for a friend and ask them to sign up in return. That way, you both can get a free iPhone!

Nice clear audible instructions
Ability to calculate alternative route automatically: bad
When preference set to motorways, will take you via motorways 10 miles away even if you are only going to the next village 1 mile away: insane
Otherwise, nice and compact and portable.
Bit miffed it didn't come with a cover of any sort, even a drawstring bag would have been nice.
Compared to my other sat nav (Nav Man): voice clearer, maps good but not as good, speed warning good, but unfortunately not so adapatable to your preferences, could take you a very long way round for a short cut, easier to update.

tomtom onevery easy to use very acurate and has a clear screen have bought three off these in total and would buy one again either if it was broken or to upgrade to a new version as i had version 2 and upgraded to version 3 last time i bought one used other make not a shadow on this

For Western European mapping it doesn't come cheaper than this.
TomTom are certainly the easiest and clearest Satnav systems to use and the One series, although designed to be budget, are also small and unobtrusive. I don't feel the need for widescreen as I drive on the road not the screen!
The mapping is good and clear, and no better or worse than any other TomTom - occasionally it gets lost and this has to be expected, but usually it is excellent.
Just occasionally it struggles to pick up, espesicaly if you start it when already moving, but this is a minor beef. In all of Europe you no longer need your passenger to have a degree in navigation and arguments have ceased. Not only that tons can be saved in tolls. A bargain buy.

Tom Tom OneThis was as described - brand new and worked perfectly. Impressed with the downloads available from TomTom. The instructions are clear and the device is easy to keep up to date. Some of the POI are extremely useful (LPG filling Stations etc) and I should have bought one of these sooner.

The One does navigation, and that's about it.
It's perfect for first-time buyers or drivers who just need a simple solution for getting from A to B. Our only wish is a cheaper price. Don't get us wrong: at around £230, it's certainly one of the more affordable portable navigation systems on the market, but it faces some stiff competition. Still, if you're looking for your first in-car GPS device or a no-frills sat-nav system, the TomTom One fits the bill.

Tomtom ONEIt's great, but not perfect. You have to make sure that you keep your eyes on the actual road and not the road on the tom tom, because it's not always right.

really nice sat nav.. got it for my dad on his anniversary.. and he loved it! its very easy to use and is easily upgradable although with just 512 mb of memory there's only so much you can do with it... but if that involves just downloading maps and stuff then this product is absolutely ace.. thanks for reading
