What a good laugh, from a time when we weren't politically correct, before the stick was shoved up everyones butts!
Warren Mitchell played a Brit bigot and created a character that everyone recognses. It's right uop there with Steptoe & son, Dads army, Vicar of Dibley Brilliant
Love this because it`s a solid British Sitcom classic, no holds barred biting satire, greatly misunderstood by those who dont get Johnny Speight`s writing and social commentary - every episode on this a gem, superbly played by the terrific cast, plus a great selection of extras inc the very first b/w epsode from 1966. a brief clip from the orig Comedy Playhouse, a docu on Johnny Speight plus the sketch from the 1972 Royal Variety Show makes this a must get for British sitcom fans , unfortunately this title has been deleted for a while but it`s well worth tracking a copy down!
Just started collecting the old classic series's & this was my 1st choice, i love it. Brought back memories from years ago & the way Una Stubbs & Tony Booth can't stop laughing at Warren Mitchell, fantastic!
