Could not get some of these songs on line to download.Best to have the album any ways. then you can listen to them anytime you'd like. Thank you to the seller also. Gail
There are seventeen works of art on this album. They are some of the best known lyrics in the world, yet the Moody Blues are responsible for so much more. Normally on a 'best of'album you can expect to find several 'filler' tracks, or what were once called 'b' sides etc. Here there is no filler whatsoever. This band were recognised, respectected and aped by nearly every band that formed from 1964 onwards! Yes, they've been around that long, but it doesn't show. If you've never owned a 'Moodies' album then shame on you! This is the greatest way for you to discover the origins of the sounds we love today. Any of these, released as a single, would immediately fly up the charts tomorrow. They are ageless - undefined and bathed in everything that is now, as well as then. The simple love lost on 'Go Now' is as relevant today as it was when first released thirty three years ago. Listen to 'Stepping In a Slide Zone' and you'll capture the magic of alternate existence, play 'Knights in White Satin' or 'Forever Autumn' and become immediately chilled out. Each of these is a masterpiece - and to find them all together on one album makes this a CD collection must have for any discerning ear.
I bought the cd of the moody blues as a present for father-in-law to reminise to! Having the very best of album seemed the obvious choice as I'm not familiar with all the old classics and it was very well recieved.
All the famous tracks, wonderful lyrics, a return to pure rock at its very very best. Justin Hayward's voice just takes the soul away and into a different time zone. A must have for Moody Blues fans, but beware, once heard, you will be hooked! Have just seen the Moody Blues in Oxford for the first time live, and was swept away; this CD is representative of their very best, and will entice you to explore more.
