Jimi Hendrix - The Ultimate Experience (CD 1995)

I bought this CD as a present for my sister who loves this music! I bought it as it was much cheaper than new, but works just the same!

This has to be one of the best albums ever made. One classic track follows another in a blend of psychedelic rock and walls of feedback. The legendary Star Spangled Banner from Woodstock is featured on here, along with other Hendrix classics such as Hey joe, Purple Haze and Little Wing.

Some of the best guitar work ever created is on this album, and is a must for anyone who enjoys rock music from the flower power generation, or indeed anyone who wants to hear what a guitar can do.

Hendrix was an all time great this album proves it, many artists around at the time were amazed at his ability and were influenced by him. This double album contains all that was great with Hendrix and many of my favourite albums are from the artists influenced by him. A great album

All the top tracks from the king of psychedelic riffs. This is a superb album for any Hendrix fan, and should definitely be in your collection.

I BOUGHT THE C.D. TO PLAY IN THE CAR. THE HENDRIX VINYL I WOULD LOVE TO COLLECT IS TOO EXPENSIVE NOW, ESPECIALLY ELECTRIC LADYLAND! THE C.D. HAS ALL THE KILLER HENDRIX TRACKS ON IT - HEY JOE, VOODOO CHILE, ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER ETC. I'M REALLY PLEASED WITH IT.HE WAS ONE PERFORMER I MISSED PLAYING LIVE BUT I REMEMBER SEEING WOODSTOCK AT THE PICTURES AND HIS PERFORMANCE WAS AWESOME!

This is the best collection of Hendrix's work, bar none!

The man's guitar skills are unrivalled and you can hear this in every song.

This CD is a compilation of the sounds, from a rock god, that marked the baby boomer generation and their belief that they could change the world. From Northern Ireland to South Africa and from Chicago to Paris young people were leading civil rights campaigns across the globe. Opposition to the war in Vietnam was growing with the dissenting voices loudest among the young.
This CD begins with the best version ever of the Dylan classic All Along the Watchtower. Jimi Hendrix's opening cords make the track immortal. Purple Haze has long been a track that tested the stereo and Jimi's version of Star Spangled Banner just has to be heard to be believed. All the way through the CD Jimi's unique guitar skills draw the listener evermore to the volume control and the risk of being a noisy neighbour.
The original tracks were recorded when the young had hope. It brings back memories of a era when peace and coexistence seemed possible. This CD is nostalgic for today's parents and grandparents who lived through those turbulent years. For the younger generation it will make you wish you were more a hippie than Sandi Thom's punk rocker.
The political world today may be a very different and better place if Progressive America had not lost in the space of three months Martin King jnr and Robert Kennedy to the assassin's bullet.
In a very short space of time the world of rock lost Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix. ( What is it about rock gods and being 27 years old?)
