The Terminal (DVD 2005)

I have to say it is a great one that first shows the meaning and beauty in our life about waiting and promise. Amelia is waiting for her dream to come true for eighteen years, for herself; Navorski's dad was waiting for something he honored so much for his life; and here comes Navorski, who waits for making his father's left dream come true, for fulfilling his promise, for the woman he fell in love, in a "crack" between the US and his own country.

He has done everything for others around him. If there is a great example of "egoless", he is one. Letting go ego, is the greatness that even Amelia found out when she gives up and scarifies something most important in her life to help Navorski.

This simple story conveys some wonderful philosophy for people living in this country busy around everyday for business, families, and so on, to slow down and reflect on something. As the retired officer said to officer Dixon, there is something we can learn from Navorski.

i just love the film. Its about a guy who basically gets stuck in an airport terminal, and cant leave it because he's fallen through a "crack" in the system whilst on the plane. (full reason on the film, just dont wanna spoil it for you) Theres a few funny bits (well what i think is humourous) Theres a few minor soppy bits, but i dont mind about that, i just think its a good film in general.
I decided to buy it for a very simple reason. It was cheap. at under £4 in excellent condition, you cant go wrong with that. :)

I have never seen this film although have wanted to for sometime, I bought it at a reasonable price to. I want to see what the character goes through having travelled all that way only to be told that his passport is not valid and is not able to leave the airport and enter USA. Its a story of determination and I find that fascinating

Bought this film because Tom Hanks has never made a bad film that I know of! I was not let down at all. Really enjoyable easy watching film..perfect to watch whilst eating your Sunday Roast! Really good film.

A good sit back and watch film. Nothing too taxing on the brain. A really fine performance by Tom Hanks as always.

Absolutly brilliant. Very funny, Very clever and most definatly worth the watch. Extremely pleased i brought this film and will never get bored of it.

Tom Hanks an excellent actor, as usual. Enjoyable movie for all ages. Informative and funny. Quite different to the usual stuff.

I BOUGHT THE FILM AS I ABSOLUTLEY ADORE TOM HANKS & THINK HE IS MARVELOUS, WHAT EVER CHARACTER HE PLAYS I THINK HE IS GREAT & HE JUST CAPTIVATES ME EVERY TIME I WATCH HIM

this film was brilliant from finish to end, tom hanks is a excellent actor and plays the part extremely well , its a must for all tom hanks fans, and you will not move from your seat !!!!!! i rate this film 10/10

When this movie was being released, I went to the cinema a lot, and saw the trailer for it a thousand times. I thought it looked like crap, really lame, and did not consider going to see it for a minute.

However, my mom owned it on DVD, and I wanted to watch something I hadn't seen yet. This turned out to be a good choice, because it actually was very funny. I laughed out loud several times. At the same time, the story is touching and sad as well, and I really liked the balance between the two.

I guess in a way, this is more of a romantic comedy than anything - but a very well-done one, that doesn't get sappy, and definitely doesn't end the way you think these things always do!

Is Tom Hanks the most versatile actor out there today? I think so. From Forest Gump to Philadelphia to Saving Private Ryan - and now The Terminal. He really makes a movie.

This is a pretty light hearted film - great for a quiet night in, or a rainy sunday afternoon. Hanks is great as usual and Zeta-Jones does a good job as a scatty air hostess.

worth a watch

I inspired to buy and watch this movie from its little introduction. There is no words to describe Tom hanks as actor and steven Spielberg as director. Jurassic Park comes in mind thinking about Spielberg but this film The Terminal just takes a different height of story and direction. Can you imagine Tom Hanks without speech? The voice and speaking style is very important point of Tom Hanks. But in this films he acts as Russian (Krokazia or something) who just got some written English words to say. This film will change the personality you have in mind for Tom Hanks. He ends up at Airport Terminal as 'Unacceptable' because there is some war or crisis at his country and his passport or visa isn't valid anymore. He can't enter to USA nor go back to home country. He ends up living at terminal gate 67 for nearly a year or so. In this he makes friends, get job, help other travellers, Learn English, Finds love and so on. He is holding and old can and he wants to go out the terminal to New York for a small job. You got to watch this movie to find that out which is the important thread of the story. There are hilarious funny moments will make you laugh till your tummy aches. And beware it may wet your eyes at moments. This is an unusual story totaly different then other movies. The direction, dialogue and story around various humans is simply great. All I can say its worth watching.
