this is a film that everybody should buy. the cd is first class from beginning to end, colours are as perfect as you could want. but thats only part of the story. why i bought it is that i am a practiceing christian. i have great difficulty in reading the bible and books generally. so watching epics is a huge pastime for us.and it does not come any bigger than this film, nor should it,because it is a factual portrayal of our history. and charlton heston does it with style. what else can i say, except, that i am going to buy the rest of his religous endevers. to all who have read this, please buy,it will give you an insight to your existence. god bless all. bob.
I bought this dvd because i saw the film as a child. However I was sorry to see that they hadn't stayed with scripture and had woven a love story into the story which wasn't true, as well as a number of other things, such as Pharaoh being the step brother of Moses, when it says in scripture that God sent Moses back to Egypt after everyone was dead that wanted to kill him, plus he fled into the wilderness he wasn't taken there by Pharaoh (I could carry on, but I won't). I do have to say that the special effects were as good as I remembered. If I'm honest i would rather read the true account. and I would recommend others who are interested in the Ten Commandments film to do the same.
I have long been an admirer of Charlton Heston and he did not disappoint in his portrayal of Moses. The acting was superb. The story line closely followed the bible account given the artistic liberty often taken by Hollywood. The sets were magnificent and the use of large crowds was well cotrolled. I enjoyed it very much .
