However, when I finished watching this movie I realised it wasn't a horror movie, but a thriller filled with excitement and a few fairly creepy moments. I am not saying that it has to be a scary movie, because I think if it was, it would ruin it because this movie is much deeper than all that.
The movie starts with an extremely succcesful child psychiatrist Dr. Malcolm Crowe and his wife ( Bruce Willis ). They are both happy until one of Malcolms deranged ex-clients breaks into their house and shoots him.A year later Malcolm is having trouble getting his life back together, his wife seems to be ignoring him, aswell as many other problems. He is called in to help a boy called Cole Sear who tells the doctor that he can see dead people. Malcolm is determined to help the boy because he has the same problem that the boy who shot him had and he feels that this would make up for his failure to help the other boy.
This was such a great movie, with an incredibly moving ending and a great twist at the end aswell. I can't imagine anybody not liking this so I recommend it to anybody.
The Sixth Sense is a very mysterious and strange film that keeps the viewer interested and guessing what is coming next. it has lots of strange twist with images of dead people
This is a brilliant film. I found this more scary then any horror film where all they do is chop people to bits etc. This is almost how i percieve things to be.... that some can see dead people in the same way as pertrayed in the film. I've watched it a few times now and I still get goose bumps!
I bought this film because... a) I think it is a fantastic film, that even though I saw it at the cinema and knew what the twist at the end was, it does'nt detract from my enjoyment of the film. and b) I had this on video but I wanted it on a more permanent format. And at £2 plus £2 p&p you cant go wrong, especially as the disc was in mint condition.
Loved this movie, very well written and directed, with the director playing a small cameo role as he does in all his films. About a young lad who has the sixth sense of seeing dead people and helping them and seeing a psychiatrist to help overcome his fear and confront it, which in turn, helps the psychiatrist to come to terms with the "problems" he is having at home with his wife... after he "failed" another child a number of years back, very gripping with a great twist at the end. If you watch it intently enough, you may sus it out! 5*
Just watched this film again for the third time ... even when you know the twists its an excellent film. Haley Joel Osment is superb as the socially isolated boy who sees dead people. Bruce Willis has great chemistry with the boy and their characters are entwined beautifully. The film doesn't date and deserves repeated viewings.
I love the mystery/spooky type of film and decided to add this to my collection. It's one that I'll want to re-watch at a later date.
I had only ever seen snippets of the film when it had been shown on TV, and wanted to see the whole thing through. I'm never very good at guessing the outcome of films - especially those with a twist at the end - but love to try.
The only mistake I made was watching alone, late at night. There are a few scenes which made me jump & horrified me whilst surrounded my darkness !
The think the older I get, the more slushy I become - because I found myself shedding a few tears at the end of this one. I think it's a good all-rounder.
