The Red Army Choir Orchestra And Dance Ensemble - Live In Paris (DVD 2005)

Having heard various tracks from The Red Army Choir on the radio, I decided to purchase the DVD of their live concert performed in Paris.
I am very glad I did, whether you like choir performances or not it makes no difference....this DVD is outstanding and thoroughly recommended.
The singing, including soloists, is superb, and the orchestra plays the type of sound that only a Russian orchestra can produce.
Now to the dancing, performed with spirit and athleticism whether Cossack style or marching ( in this they were very light on their feet almost ballet like) it was very enjoyable, so much so that I replayed the dancing bits again
at the end of the DVD.
A real bonus was the singing of "Silent Night" and "Jingle Bells" (this chorus sung in English and one could see the Red Army Choir were really enjoying it)
at the end of the DVD.
My only criticism is the fact that no announcements were made between songs
so that one had to constantly look at the list in DVD box to discover the name of the piece or dance group.
I would still say ' buy it ' or at least sample it!

It was a joy to listen to a real and genuine male voice choir from alto to deepest bass accomapnied by its own and appropriate instrumental musicians
The dance ensemble was a worthy exponent of theatrical dance and presented a varied programme of athletic and graceful skills.
