Will Smith did a great job as the father trying to protect his son from their circumstances of becoming homeless as much as he can, while at the same time trying to work in the competitive world of stocks as an un-paid intern. Jaden Smith was outstanding as the preschool-aged kid who knows things are going wrong and tries to have a stiff upper lip, but just can't do it all the time.
The story is very touching and was close to home for me. My family has been through some tough times, and this movie just reminded me of how much my parents struggled to provide for our family and yet kept life fun as much as they could. I am excited to go see this with my parents as a way to say thank you.

An absolutely brilliant film as you would expect having Will Smith as the lead actor..His son in real life played his son in the film and he is definately a "chip off the old block "..Based on a true story it makes you realise that no matter what problems life throws at you things are never as bad as you think..
Have a box of tissues at the ready..Male or female you'll need them !!!

Absolutely great movie, with starring roles taken by will Smith and his son Jaden. I didn't get to see the movie when it was released so bought the DVD to watch at home. I love anything Will Smith is in and have always been a fan of Fresh Prince of Belair, this movie shows his true talent and got him an oscar nomination. the title The Pursuit of Happyness (Happiness) comes from the wrongly spelt word outside the chinese nursery that he takes his son to. this is an American rags to riches movie based on the life of Rich Gardener, a man left to look after his young son by himself and his struggle to make a career in finance for himself and his son. he has to sleep in homeless shelters and a train station toilet while learning his trade. No welfare system to match ours in the USA, people have to work or starve. His determination and courage pays off in the end. for an unforgettable feel-good movie watch this one.

I had already seen the film and really liked it so wanted to buy, the ebay price i found was much cheaper than any of the shop prices so i decided to purchase.

The dvd arrived very quickly, in perfect condition and sealed just as stated.

It seems in this film that the word Pursuit holds a strong point in terms of the whole concept of the film (without displaying any info to those who havent watched yet!) If you tend to cry during films then this one is a killer for you!

This is a great film, something you can watch more than once! The plot is rich, the script is well written and excellently delivered by Will Smith and his son. A heart-warming, feel-good (eventually) experience!

i liked the human side of the story, it is good to see will smith in a departure from the usual action type films, good acting.

This is an amazing film, it's a really feel good film, Iv'e seen it twice now and I'm not sick of it. It's got an ending that will make you cry, Will Smith is great in it and I'd highly reccommend it to anyone.

Enjoyable, slightly predictable film. Entertaining but did show some of the grittier sides to life. Great choice for watching when too tired to concentrate on anything more challenging. Would watch again if there was nothing on the TV.

Will Smith returns in this film, promising alot. However the film seems to drag on a little towards the end despite the appeal of Smith and his son. The plot unfortunately loses its appeal and is perhaps drawn out. On the other hand the quality of acting helps the film. For the right price it is worth a look for all Will Smith fans. 4 out of 5!

I bought this particular dvd(in pursuit of happyness) as a friend had recommended it, I found it a bargain on ebay. Rather than renting the dvd to see if I liked it, I thought I would buy it to watch for the first time and then I was able to let friends borrow it too.
The film itself is a very moving tale of father and son rather than the usual boyfriend/girlfriend scenario.............hence getting the other half to watch it too!!!! So has you intrigued from the beginning as to how the story will flow betwen the two of them. In this case a lovely tale of hope triumphing. Brilliant acting from will Smith's son and the man himself. Well worth a watch.

it was in excellent condition and the film was good.there was nothing to dislike about it. i thought it was a good all rounder for family and friends.

The film was reccommeded by a friend and i decided to get it. It was a good film and very moving in parts. With real life issues which could happen to anyone.

I purchased this dvd because ever since it came out, i thought it looked really interesting.
It is a very touching and realistic movie.
It stars the famous and lovable Will Smith and his real life son. I've liked Will Smith as an actor since he was in Fresh Prince of Bel Air. As Will Smith has grown up as a person, he has grown up as an actor and has easily converted to the appropriate character.
This movie, along with Ali, shows Will Smith in demanding roles and show how his already great acting skills have got ever better.
I think that this movie is a must see for all ages. Adults can relate from the parent perspective and children can relate to the single, busy parent perspective.

i watched this film with my sister and we both loved it! best film ive seen staring will smith, ideal for a girls night in, my hubby enjoyed it too (no hes not a girl!) lol

This is a really great film and will make you realise what is really important in life and what isn't. The film tells the story of a guy who risks everything to reach his dream and about the hardship along the way to reach that. I think this film is a nice offset to the instant fame and fortune where some people's idea of hardship to reach their dream is standing in line for X-Factor auditon.
Will Smith is a great actor in this and shows that he can do deep serious as well as comdey. The film will make you cry especially when he reaches his lowest point and ends up sleeping on the floor of a subway station toilet.

The film is a true story and is really insipring and says if you have a dream and am willing to work at it then you can achieve.

The only thing which seems to be overlooked in the film is that Will Smith's character has his wife walk out on him and he takes their kid with him and the kid seems unbothered that his mother is no longer in his life.

I absolutely love this movie... I seen it in the cinema when it first came out and I thought it was that good that I just knew I would be purchasing it on dvd. Will Smith and his son play a fantastic role in this gripping story.

Against all odds the battle never gets the better of his determination.

There is a lesson in here we could all learn from, to achieve your dreams, you sometimes have to climb a few mountains and take a few risks, there are many lows to hit before the highs are reached.

What i love about this film is the fact that it portrays everyday real life struggles. Will Smith and his real life son play their roles wonderfully and have such perfect chemistry on film.
This film is very moving, touching and heartwarming to. I cried all the way through this film because i was so moved by the story.
It sends out a powerful and very true message to which is whatever life throws at you be strong and do the best you can. Also remember what is important in your life and as difficult as it is to get through life and the daily struggles things can be overcome with determination. Follow your dreams and don't let anyone tell you that you will never be able to achieve them.

I am so pleased i finally got to buy this film and watch it. Well worth waiting for.
