The Princess Diaries (DVD 2002)

I bought this DVD as my little girl, who is 3, saw it with a friend and really wanted to watch it again, so i went onto ebay and there it was at an unbelieveably good deal at only about £4.50 for both DVD's and the P&P.

I've bought of ebay before and will do again, i love ebay.

This is one of the many films i have got for my children as i love disney films for them. They are full of adventure and this film is a great film for my daughter as she is a little princess herself.

It's not hard to figure out why The Princess Diaries was such a big hit. The film's premise - a gawky teenager discovers she's actually the Princess of a small country - represents the ultimate in wish fulfillment for young girls, and star Anne Hathaway undeniably makes for an engaging and charismatic heroine. But the film's overlong running time, combined with an abundance of unnecessary subplots, prevents The Princess Diaries from becoming anything more than a mildly entertaining showcase for Hathaway's obvious talent.

I bought this DVD for my 9 year old daughter for her birthday and she absolutely enjoyed it, but thats because younger children are the age limit to enjoying this film. I recommend this film to anyone who has young children.

This is written for little princesses who think an 18year old is sooooo big and grown up. And if one GROWN UP girl was really a princess then they might be one too.... you never know!

I read a review in one of the TV guide mags where the critic hammered this film... maybe their IQ didn't allow them to realise this is a simple fantasy for little girls and absolutely appeals to them. ..they should "SHUUT UP".

I struggle to believe Julie Andrews would have agreed to something she thought was rubbish... and then agree to the sequel (and she could get the money anywhere) but I bet any young granddaughters/nieces etc think she is really cool for this.

This is wonderful, charming fun with a simple 'moral' (around even the best dreams being sometimes difficult and trying to please everyone). As an added bonus, the real star is (as always) the chauffer.

If you have a pink room in your house, with Ariel and Jasmin and Cinderella and Belle featuring widely then you might have someone who will love this...

.... and it might just be their 40+yr old grumpy dad secretly enjoys it too!.. (but sssshhh, don't tell anyone!).

This film is a great girlie film about a young school girl who is your normal teenager in love with a boy who has no idea about her father. Coming close to her birthday her grandmother (Julie Andrews) who turns out to be a Queen introduces herself and mentions that she is actually princess. So she is been taught on how to be a lady in front of her subjects. And takes you through the stages of her been taught to act like a princess. This film is funny in places and takes on a journey of love and friendship. AN excellent film to watch for the girls and also the ladies of the house

This was brought by my daughters. They love this and the other that goes with it.
Price is very good on Ebay and the seller was very prompt.
There are no bad bits at all.
A good buy for the family

Bought the video for my 5 year old, her friend watched it with her and loved it so much we bought her the DVD for her birthday. It will be one to keep watching til their teens.
Light modern-day Cinderella story with star cast(Julie Andrews and Anne Hathaway).
Great easy watching fun film and mum can enjoy it too.

This film is good. It is sometimes funny and other times serious. It is for girls of all ages. I would recommend it. It is a feel good film!

It's been a few years since i watched this movie, and i still thoroughly enjoyed it. Great film for everyone. Good humour throughout the movie.

Every little girls dream come true. I loved the books, and although the film differs slightly, it is still excellent. Anne Hathaway was perfect for the role and I'm pleased she's gone on to even bigger success. The Princess Diaries is perfect for for young girls, or those still young at heart. A light hearted comedy and romance that is guaranteed to make you smile, no matter how bad you're feeling.

I got this for my family we have seen it before and loved it its a dvd we watch on a regular basis. It is a fun girly film suitable for any age.

A brilliant film. Both me and my kids love it. Definately a great family film. I hired it from the local library years ago and liked it. Once the kids were old enough I thought I would try them with it. They LOVED it. I got fed up of hiring it and decided it would be cheaper to buy

i had princess diaries number 2on dvd so i needed number one and we dont watch videos really now its all dvds witch i better

A fuuny and charming film. The typical little girls dream: finding out you are really a princess. But showing that it might not be all its cracked up to be. Anna Hathaway does an excellent job as the clumsy princess-to-be, trying to become what is expected of her while trying to stay true to herself.

A good watch for children and adults alike.

Perfect for when you want some light entertainment to watch home alone or with friends or family.

We already had Princess Diaries 2 and wanted to know how the story started.
Both films are good but I would have to say that I do prefer the first one.

The stories are funny and easy to watch and both my daughter and I loved it.

I got given the 2nd dvd princess diaries 2 for xams, and i hadnt seen the first one.
looked on ebay and found a copy, as i couldn't find a copy in the shops.
This was my main reason for buying dvd.

When i received the dvd, i watched it and enjoyed it very much.
The whole film was funny which is what i liked the most about it, I liked the way the story was set out and the way the actress played her character.

I was happy that i found a copy, as now my collection is complete.

Iam a big Disney fan and thought this film was great, alot of kids would love the film, as it's a really nice fairy tale kind of movie

I would recommend this film to any one who has kids, as i know the kids would love it, and yes even the adults would like it too.

My daughter wanted this having read most of the books. She was watching it on her DVD palyer in bed one night when I came in to say goodnight and I watched a bit.... and a bit more..and then I found a more permanent space on her bed and watched the entire film. I'm glad she's watching this good little film as it holds a candle up to Romance-no bad thing.

A film that could be watched over and over again. Music in the film is excellent. All characters play excellent parts.
