This is worth buying for 'To Be or Not To Be' and 'Bang Bang' alone. Those 2 singles from the turn of the 70's have got everything - witty lyrics, great music, great singing. Classic new-wave pop - records this good are Very rare these days .......
This is a must for all late 70's to early 80's lovers.I've been trying to find a CD by this man for ages. Was supposed to be released in 2005 but the artist objected to it's release so I was very disappointed, but when I saw it on ebay I was over the moon. All his hits are on this gem of a CD including my personal favourites "Bang Bang" and "Knocked It Off".I can't say anything bad about it,it's probably the best investment I've ever made.I recommend this CD to anyone who like classic pop like this,it will sure bring back some memories.
As a friend was looking for this cd and had found it unavailable in any shops. It was good to find that the market for good as new cd's is alive and kicking on ebay. I was pleased that so many hard to locate titles are available from private sellers.
The cd itself is great and the platinum collection does include all of the favourite songs. Well worth getting.
He surfaced in the very late 70's with a selection of quirky yet brilliantly produced pop songs. When nearly everything was getting a CD release, there were a lot of artists being ignored for reasons I can only assume is to do with copyright and/or production costs. An essential CD for the 70's/80's collector and for a change...ALL THE BIG HITS are here and of course the album tracks of note. There is, however one song missing. The 2nd theme to the UK hit TV show 'Swap Shop' but this does not spoil the pleasure of hearing these songs in superb quality. The price of this CD on eBay reflects how long fans of this genre have been waiting for this album to emerge...perhaps the record company will now consider releasing his albums as they were and if they did...they need to include the said TV theme as a bonus track. 10/10 and if they promoted it properly, who knows how high in the album chart it could go. BRAVO!!!
BA Robertson is long forgotten about and after listening to his geatest 20 hits compilation I was amazed to wonder why. He was just so artistic and this album shows why. Top drawer CD and one still wonders why his record company deleted what would have been a greatseller.
Every single song he's released has impeccable production and demonstrates a brilliant understanding of pop composition. Although this collection skips a couple of career highlights - most notably the 1982 Scotland World Cup song 'We Have A Dream', and the highly underrated single 'Saint Saens' - it is by far a testament to the most excellent set of popular music tracks ever placed on one disc.
This CD kicks off with his major hit 'Bang Bang' about historical faux pas caused by love's insatiability which neatly sets the tone for the rest of the album. The majority of his songs have a fantastic lightness plus a tongue in cheek fun factor that never fails to raise a smile.
Overall, the 20 tracks on this disc show off an immense song writing talent that has well and truly stood the test of time.
TIMELESS ENJOYMENT FROM ONE OF POP'S GREATEST GURUS!
