The Passion Of The Christ (DVD 2004)

Perhaps the worst film I saw in 2007.
Sadly this film only catered for those who already 'believe' but reads to me more like pure propaganda.
I'm surprised that people watched this and didn't question it at all!

If you 'believe' then you'll probably believe this film is good.
For everyone else, steer well clear.

A powerful Mel Gibson film portrayed in graphic detail,the last weeks of Jesus life on earth. It is a very factual and accurate film when compared alongside the New Testament Gospels and is very well put together. Whether your a Christian believer or not, its worth a look to decide for yourself. At the end of the day Christianity is generaly mocked these days and modern day Christians are scoffed at, like those in the film, but buy this DVD and watch it in the comfort of your own home, then when its finished ask yourself this question - Now, who do I say Jesus really was?

Fantastic....highly recommend! Very moving DVD about the cruxificion of Jesus. Some people find this horrific (hence being an 18) but it was a real terrible event that occurred over 2000 years ago. This will bring a different meaning to Easter for you. Maybe also life changing on how we treat others too, and lead us to repentence too.

Ive watched a lot of horror movies but this takes the prize as the worst. I first watched it at the cinema and wanted to scream at the picture to leave Christ alone. But watching it for the first time i actually felt i had seen Christ being killed when it did happen, in real life. Im a born again christian so ive read the account of Jesus being tortured but this movie brings home that Jesus took all that, so i could be saved. The Passion of Christ isnt just for believers, if your interested in how life was 2000years ago with roman occupation and how the jews played a part in this shameful piece of murder, then you wont be left disappointed.

An Incredible Film Depicting The Life, Times and True Events Surrounding The Eventual Crucifixion Of The One True King, God And Messiah, The Lord Jesus Christ Who Was Born To Not Only Die On the Cross For Our Sins But To Take An Incredible Amount of Torture, Pain, Suffering, Humiliation And Rejection With Astonishing And Holy Spirit Provided Humility And Dignity That Leaves You Knowing That No Man That Has Lived, Lives Or Will Live Will Ever Come Close And We Should All Be Eternally Humbled And Grateful!
If We All Tried To Live According To The Teachings of Jesus Then Believe Me The World Would Not Be In The Terrible State It Is Now!
A True Man Of Great Kindness, Love, Forgiveness And Compassion!

Extremely moving and distressing but had a wonderful human element to it and was reasonable accurate in the events that took place, with poetic license thrown in here and there.
Certainly not entertaining but well worth a viewing, it really made you think.

I bought this film because A,i am a christian and believe that it brings home the reality of what Jesus went through for me,and B,it was so well made and gets the point across that it was made to do.I do think however that we should have had a little bit more of a build up to the events leading up to the arrest of Jesus,so that you could get to know the character of the man and the reason why he was being crucified.But all in all a very good film.

What can I say. This is not an era that I lived through. So I have no real knowledge. But what a lovely moving film. One cannot help but feel the pain, the reality of what might have happened all those years ago. Highly recommended.

Absolutely lovely film, very moving and thought provoking, makes you want to go and confess everything you've ever done wrong! Best film I have seen in years. definately one for every DVD collection.

This film really makes you think, Mel Gibson was brave to take on a project like this. Everyone, what ever your beliefs, should watch this film. Jim cavezell, well, what can i say, he is asthonishing in the role of Christ, I'm sure that Jesus's suffering was far worst than Mel portrays in this film. Gripping, thought provoking,a must see film. It is brutal,gutchurning,and sometimes very hard to watch, but an absolute must see film. I got this for a bargain price from ebay and would say don't miss this film.Well done Icon films!God bless you Mel for bring to the screen this film.

An excellent film for both Christians and Atheists. Although very graphic, it does deliver the message/story of the last 12 hours of Jesus Christs life - and even if you do not believe in this, it does give you an idea of the horrible things we did to each other in the past as punishments.

well what can i say if your religous you wont like it it your not religous you wont like it what a waste of money

Graphic - brutal even, but amazingly powerful depiction of all that Jesus Christ suffered. Pretty faithful to the Gospel accounts. You don't need subtitles to follow what is happening. Compelling, if shocking. Highly recommended!

I love this film as it gives an idea of what Jesus went through for us. It was a brilliant piece of directing by Mel Gibson and wonderful acting with all the actors. Very spooky in places. The words at the bottom didn't bother me at all as I was still able to concentrate on the film as it was all spoken in Aramaic. Highly recommended all the year through not just for Easter.

Plenty of merit on the cinematography, acting, special effects and storyline. I don't bother much not rate any religiuous content (even though I understand it is a key point to others). The multilingual sound track is a phantastic achievement.

I m muslim and believe all previously Prophets' so wanted to show my mum too and believe this is true but really not easy to watch that much violence in the movie.

People show watch it to know about the history of Jesus Christ !

I decided to buy this as my husband has just become a Christian and we felt we should and would be humbled by the film. I thought the account of the crucifixion was extremely graphic and certainly left no stone unturned, but on the upside at least no one could watch this film and deny God!!

no complaints really.. great price, delivery time and condition.. and it's a valuable prop for a pretty nifty drinking game.. everytime jesus gets hit with something ya take a swag o' yer drink.. i can garentee you'll be gone by the first hour.. if not he gets his lashes after that.. and there's a few to go at there!!

good film once you get into it very powerful film you have to get past the fact its done in latin and italian

The Passion of Christ is not a pretty movie but, I feel, it strikes near the mark of what that day actually was like. The stories we are spoon-fed portray the people of that day as being warm, generous and Presbyterian-like. This story is a shaker!

Brutal & realistic. Showing what Jesus truly went through. I enjoyed this film as a believer. Non-beleivers may also enjoy, as it shows determination as well.

Having seen this film at the cinema, really wanted to get it to give as a gift to my mum. I knew she would never get to see it at the cinema and as i had previoulsy purchased a dvd player for her, decided that this would be a good film to buy. Obviously a huge gibson fan as well, and believe he has excelled himself in the making of this production. There are parts i still cannot actually watch as it is quite graphic, but the harsh reality is it would have been like that.
