One of, if not the best Maiden albums. Featuring Children of the Damned, Hallowed Be Thy Name, The Prisoner, 22 Acacia Avenue, Gangland, Total Eclipse, Invaders and Maiden classics Run To The Hills and Number of the Beast. A must for all Iron Maiden and Heavy Metal fans alike.
OK this album may be more than 20 years old but it the one that most people remember. There were 2 albums to preceed this one (IRON MAIDEN and KILLERS), both with Paul Di'Anno as lead singer. Unfortunately he had to leave for personal reasons so this was Bruce Dickinson's first album - and he really made his mark! The group have made many more albums since this one and have gone from being a great metal band to being a LEGENDARY metal band, but this will always be one of the albums I think of when I want a full strength dose of proper HEAVY METAL!!!! GRRRRR! :o)
If you are looking for youre first Iron Maiden C.D. this is the one to get. Yes it is on of the older albums that they have made, but it contains an excellent variety from the iconic Run To The Hills and The Number Of The Beast (2 of the best known metal songs ever) threw the chilling Children Of The Damned, to the les well known Invaders, The Prisoner,22 Acacia Avenue, Gangland, Total Eclipse and Hallowed Be Thy Name. On the other hand if you are a 25 year IMFC member like myself the extra multimedia section makes this C.D. an excellent addition to your collection. Up the Irons and happy listoning.
It is a very old heavy-metal album of Iron Maiden. Very rare, from that period when metal band songs were highly eard. True metal, one of the bests of Iron Maiden, five stars album.
THE must have 80s metal album. This is the one that spawned 1000s of wannabe metal bands all trying to do that great start from Run to the Hills. The pure nostalgia of the intro to The Prisoner will create prickles down the spine of anyone over 30. 2 classic singles (Number of the Beast and Run to the Hills) and album that is NOT full of filler tracks. Any of 'em could have been singles. The original album ended with the almost prog structured Hallowed be they name but Total Eclipse is a welcome bonus track on this reissue.
You wanna play metal? Learn these riffs, these awesome drum patterns and Steve Harris' relentless rolling bass lines.
One of the first metal bands i tuned my adolescent ears to in the mid eighties along with AC/DC and Metallica. This albumn is the epicentre of hard rock and compared to todays standards in a timeless league of its own. An absolute masterpiece and i would recommend any wannabe headbanger to bin the Nu Metal crap and listen to some real music. A pity though that the discs that are produced nowadays are more flimsy and wont play on my car stereo, they weigh half as much as the original unmastered counterparts. But never mind the albumn ROCKS and i have a stereo in the house.
If your an Iron Maiden fan this album is a must have. Some of the songs it has are Run to the Hills and The Number of the Beast which are 2 of there greatest songs ever written.
An excellent album !! Definatly one of the best rock albums,if not the best,of all time.Every song on this album could have been released as a single, with their crashing drum beats, thrashing guitars and fantastic lyrics,IRON MAIDEN deliver the goods as only they can. From the title track to the slower 'Children of the damned',a fantastic selection of tunes, and this enhanced cd contains 2 full length videos, tour history, photos etc to play on your pc. The original vinyl album was released in 1982,which I own still but I replace many of my vinyl with cd and keep my vinyl for collectable reasons only. A worthwhile choice for old or new 'MAIDEN' fans.
A maiden fan since I heard their first two albums, i was eager too hear singer Paul DI Anno's replacement in the band. Enter Bruce "air-raid siren" Dickinson. His vocals leave me in no doubt that Iron Maiden will be around for many years. This really is an all time classic album. :-)
I brought this because I am replacing my old vinyl collection and wanted it on my i-pod. I like the videos on this enhanced disc and it has som of my favorite Maiden tracks on.
hi i bought it cause i ve been looking evey where for it and it was very expensive still so i went on e bay and found it at a reasonable price and trusted the feedback of seller thanks

Album notes This is an Enhanced CD which contains regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. The Enhanced portion includes music videos for "Run To The Hills" and "Number Of The Beast."Iron Maiden: Bruce Dickinson (vocals); Dave Murray, Adrian Smith (guitar); Steve Harris (bass); Clive Burr (drums).Engineers: Martin "Farmer" Birch, Nigel "It Wasn't Working Yesterday" Hewitt-Green.Recorded at Battery Studios, London, England.Digitally remastered by Simon Heyworth (Chop 'Em Out).1982's THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST remains one of heavy metal's all-time classics. Although the British quintet was in the midst of enjoying its first taste of global success, original singer Paul Di'Anno abruptly quit in 1981. Though stunned, the young band wisely agreed to soldier on, making ex-Samson singer Bruce Dickinson their new frontman. Nicknamed "The Air Raid Siren," Dickinson's voice was to become one of the band's most prominent signature characteristics. It also didn't hurt that the band had composed some of its best songs ever, such as the haunting title song, and its first U.K. Top-10 single, "Run to the Hills." Other highlights include the sinister "Children of the Damned," the melodic "The Prisoner," and the album-closing epic "Hallowed Be Thy Name."
This was a gift for fathers day and it was perfect for my husband. Choosing presents for such a day is difficult but on e-bay the choice is fab and unusal. The cd of iron maiden brought back memories of his younger days and it was fun to listen to again after nearly 25years. thank you.
Iron Maiden's biggie. Regularly appearing in polls as one of the greatest heavy metal albums ever and, unusually for Maiden, seeming to cross over into mainstream audiences as well. Even my seven year old son loves Run to the Hills (and tries to emulate Bruce Dickinson's ear shattering scream)as do (embarrassingly) my mum and even people who, on mentioning the name Iron Maiden, pull a facial expression as though they'd just found something rank on the sole of their shoe! Why? Well, part of the reason is undoubtedly newly arrived vocalist Bruce Dickinson. Aptly nicknamed the 'Air Raid Siren', his vocal performances on Run To The Hills, The Number of the Beast, Children of the Damned and Hallowed Be Thy Name are startling. And add to that the fact that the rest of the band were probably the best and tightest outfit in metal at that time (or ever?). Try to picture the melodic guitar approach of Thin Lizzy combined with Black Sabbath on amphetamines and add a touch of the old English 'Hammer' horror films and you're part way to envisioning the Iron Maiden sound. Aside from perhaps Invaders there's not a bad track on it. Buy it, listen to it three or four times and you'll be miming the vocals and air guitaring without caring how foolish you look.
