This was bought for my two children who absolutely love it. I thought it may be a little scary in parts but they think its great with some really very funny bits. The story line is very well thought out and some fabulous movie sets have been used.

A good follow-up story to The Mummy. Will there be third film relating to Egypt since I got the impression that we all have not heard the last of Imhotep.

I bought this dvd after watching the movie on TV. I think the film is fantastic. There is action from start to finish. The sort of film to watch on a Sunday afternoon with all the family. I would recommend this film to everyone.

what you doing honey these guys dont use doors

I was quite prepared to dislike this film as both fighting/fantasy type movies don't always suit my taste. However when i watched this (although it took me a while to get into it) i was surprised by how i actually did. Obviously its based in deserty style scenes and the acting is wonderful, just perfect. There is something going on a lot in this movie, therefore it certainly isn't boring. And although i actually did enjoy this quite, many probably would find the style of the movie just boring!
This is one film that may surprise you too. I recommend you to hire this out

A wicked chain of events finds the corpse of the Mummy Imhotep resurrected in the British Museum, ready to walk the Earth once more and determined to fulfil his quest for immortality.
But this time, a duelling force of evil has also been set loose in the world...even more powerful than Imhotep.
When these two forces clash, the fate of the world will hang in the balance, sending Rich and Evie O'Connell (Brendan Fraser & Rachel Weisz) on a desperate race to save the world from unspeakable evil, and rescue their son, before it's too late.

A very good sequel, well worth watching!

  Simply fantastic
Review created: 05/07/07

The film is action mixed with a thriller and comic scenes, you can feel that you are there when you watch it, the actors made you feel it's so realistic and I loved it more as the real story based in the town I came from (Thebes) which is called currently (Luxor) in Egypt, it's a must have a family film.

  Excellent sequel
Review created: 07/04/07

Many sequels never quite seem to match up to the original film, or fall short somehow. However, The Mummy Returns definitely lives up to the legacy of The Mummy, providing the same wonderful blend of shocks, laughs and adventure that we all enjoyed so much in the first film. Imhotep makes an appearance again (couldn't leave him out, that would be criminal!), as do pretty much all the characters from the first film - Rick, Eve, Jonathan, etc. - with just as many memorable moments and quotes.

In The Mummy Returns, Rick and Eve are now married, with a son, Alex. However, just as everything seems to be peaceful, the body of Imhotep is shipped to the British museum, and he is resurrected by a cult of followers, who intend for him to defeat the Scorpion King, who has reawoken, and take command of his armies to destroy the world. As Alex is kidnapped by Imhotep and his followers, Rock, Eve and Jonathan battle their way all the way to Egypt again in their quest to not only save the world, but also their son....

I adored this film from the first time I watched it, and it certainly lived up to my expectations based on the first film. I would highly recommend this! 5/5

  The Mummy Returns
Review created: 08/09/06

Loved the first one, and enjoyed this one but it was a bit over the top with the flying ship!!! A bit of a Peter Pan complex going on there. I enjoyed the flashbacks that the women in the film had which added a good twist to the film. The Rock as the Scorpion King appeared to look like a cartoon character at the end.

Have to say I loved the original, very entertaining and made me desperately want to see the sequal.....This is absolutely the biggest pile of pants I have ever had the displeasure to watch. Horribly hackneyed sequal with none of the charm and excitement of the original. The whole cast of the original clearly signed up for the cash and clearly didn't read the storyline or script in advance. Massive plot holes, awful characters, puke rendering kid, token funny brit and just a dreadful dreadful storyline. Oh god I think I'm going to be sick again. Avoid this film like your life depended on it!

  Horror without horror!

Everyone was flocking to see this film in drones when I had a look at this film on its cinema release. Maybe they’d caught an eye of the exciting trailer prior to its release!

To be honest I thought the trailer to this feature presentation was more exciting than the movie itself! The amazing special effects are overdone and the feature is awash with computer generated scenes that are pretty horrific in places, but with not enough ambience to give you bad dreams.

If you're a twelve year old kid you’ll love all this (it's a big wow), but as an adult unless you are prepared to 'take your brain out' for a few hours and put up with the corny childish dialogue and Egyptian chirographic script you should not be fooled into any reason to watch this one other than to see the special effects.

It's a bit of an Egyptian Indiana Jones come Star Wars, 'good vs. evil' flick with a dose of zombie flesh eaters, thrown in with real good computer graphics!

There are some British location scenes in London that obviously try to bring it all home, but they just don’t make it any less American, I’m afraid.

Corpses, mummies, and the quest for immortality! Whatever happened to Sinbad?

The leading female roles add to the much needed glamour though, making even the fight sequences look somewhat appealing.

Go on, see it on your own, kids!
