Great gift for someone ezpecially for firends that get the calender. While not alot of dialogue i dont think many are watching it for the words lol. It was a much appreciated gift for someones brithday
You may not be interested in rugby, but this DVD has little to do with the game itself, other than you'll wish your boyfriend played (if he doesn't).
It's filled from beginning to end with Adonis-like men meandering about naked or near enough, having their picture taken for the hugely successful Dieux Du Stade calendar. It's a big business now, which started with the popular calendars, a book and now a DVD every year - which thankfully are cheaper than the calendars.
This DVD, unlike it's predecessor of 2004, is in both black and white and colour segments. We also hear more sound from the sets whereas last year's had a bad tinny soundtrack over the top. It compliments the calendar nicely in that we learn more about each participant, see how the shots are put together and if you've particularly fancied one or two of the guys you can skip the ones you don't and drool over your favourite.
On a less sexist level, this DVD may be of interest to those into photographing the human body, because we do see a few technical clips, but to be frank, this is just another way to appreciate such natural beauty - rugby fan or not.
I bought this item because who in their right mind wouldn't want to see all those beautiful bodies on display! From the opening shot to the end credits, there is just so much eye candy you're garunteed a sugar rush! The layout of the DVD is simple, you can choose to change the menu language to either French or English, the feature its self hardly has any speech and there are no subtitles. The feature does contain a lot of nudity, so be warned before you take a look! My only complaint is that with one of the extras options theres an option to jump to a specific scene, but as will all stade DVD's they don't include links to all scenes, meaning you will have to manually forward to get to the scene you're looking for. I would recommend the DVD to anyone who is aware of the Dieux du stade series, or anyone who wants to see a bit of naked rugby beef!
