The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy (DVD 2004)

With the first film released I trotted down to my cinema and sat for several hours, which normally would have annoyed me, but I almost wished this film never ended, maybe hoping for a bit more action in the second one, I was not dissapointed, then the third film was released and I thought I had died and gone to heaven as these are by far the greatest films ever made, based on the best books ever written, the only thing that has surpassed the originals is the exstended versions, This is a must see for anyone as it imcompasses so many different ideas andf themes that fans of all genres od films will fall in love with it like I have. If you dont own these movies then buy them or live in the knowledge that you are missing out on something special.

i find the extended version is awesome, can never get enough of it. I am looking forward for the Hobbits......wonder when peter is goin release it on cenima?

Brilliant film set, great product condition and excellent price. Delighted with purchase and the many hours of middle earth!

A great trilogy - and although long (you'll need the best part of a day to get thru them lol) they are very good.

Although I have not read the books, I am aware that the film is quite accurate to them, and so you do not loose anything with it going to the big screen.

The acting is sound, and you really feel part of the action - even more so if you use a surround sound system

I would recommend watching these films.

I am sooooo in love with these films. They are simply the best fantasy adventure EVER. These discs have lots of extra footage that has to be chopped from the cinematic versions (I have them as well)quite frankly the whole thing is perfect!
The extras on these discs are different to the cinematic versions too so its well worth having both if you fancy a nosy into how they did things behind the scenes.
All we have to do now is wait for The Hobbit which id currently in pre-production (due 2010).......watch this space with interest as to whether they can match The Lord of The Rings

I was very pleased with my item, The Lord Of The Rings trilogy. I love the film so being able to buy the trilogy NEW at such a cheap price was too good an offer to miss! I would definately buy other items from this seller in the future!

A gripping trilogy to say the least - a true epic. Purchased the extended trilogy box set because i wanted to see more.

As i said i bright it for my nice as she likes lord of the rings the seller was excellent. I will bay from the seller again if i see something i like.

Having watched a friends dvd version and after missing some of the Trilogy on TV i decided to buy it. I have only watched it once since i purchased it, but it is thoroughly enjoyable. I love the story and the version done by Peter Jackson is first class. I will watch it again and again i'm sure in the years to come. One for the collection, definately.

the extended version was excellent, you dont know how much was edited for the cinema. The best part was that i was able to watch the films one after the other, pausing only to for short breaks

I love everything about this film, and this edition is great! It's fantastic to know everything about the production! And it's a beautiful object to show and to have at home!

We already had the first individual copies of this trilogy but this presentation pack had a lot of extra scenes and more background information about the film the characters, the location and how many of the parts of the film were filmed and put together. It is an excellent presentation pack for fans, we enjoyed it immensley and will watch it over and over again, money very well spent to my mind.

i already had the normal version on dvd and wanted to upgrade when i got them i was verry happy that it lived up to my expectations fi you have seen the original lord of the rings and liked it you'll love this it really fills in a lot of the blanks and matches well with the origianl book!!

These films are my favourite.I was too impatient to wait for the extended versions when they first came out and bought the normal ones, so when I found these on ebay at such a good price I had to have them.I would also recommend the seller as they were dispatched very quickly.

The Lord of the Rings trilogy is no doubt one of the best movies ever made and must have dvd for any fan. Owning the extended trilogy goes one step further! Once you have watched the extended version you will ask yourself why did Peter Jackson edit the film. The extended version is a master piece for any Lord of the Rings fan.

I liked this item because of its extended features and the wonderful design of the box. It came in excellent condition with no problems. I decided to buy it after playing the Mmorpg "World of Warcraft" this sort of spured me into this genre of fantasy.

better than the shorter version normally seen.Contains scenes not seen in the normal lord of the rings trilogy as well as lots of information on how the trilogy was made.In depth information on the actors also makes this an excellent buy for the lord of the rings fans

Tolkien must have one heck of a mind to come up with such an outstanding story.

Read the books, seen the film, watched the DVDs of the film - believe me this extended trilogy is excellent. See all the loose ends in the film version tied up and just how close to the books the full version is. I recommend this extended trilogy - I know it is about 12 hours long, but believe me once you are into it you will make the time.

I have red the book mant times since my teens some 45 years ago and relished every moment if it. and when I heard that it was being made into a movie I waited with bated breath not knowing just what to expect. As each film was released I was one of the first in the queue to see it and as this was in Thailand my three year old daughter and she was engrosed with it, and for one so young to be engrosed in anything other than cartoons was a sure sign that it was a winner. Each film was seen on release and each 2 disk DVD was bought as it was released and I thought how could anything better this, but then the extended version was released. As much as I wanted to get this version I was very reluctant to pay the full price and so bided my time for a cheaper version. My wait paid off and I managed to get it for 14.99. The extra footage is superb, but what a pity that this version was not the one on general release. I have had this set now for almost a month and have watched it three times and never tire of it. The one downside is that the movie is divided between 2 disks where it would have been better on just one disk. it runs for almost 12 hours but I would recomend it to anyone who loves fantasy.

I have always been a lover of the fantasy genre. The Lord of the Rings can whisk you away to an alternative reality and simply keep you there. The special effects and make up are perfect to capture the imagination of Tolkiens world. Anyone who would like an afternoon of total escapism, this set of dvd's can take you away from your worries for a couple of hours. Simple the best!!

We loved the Lord of the Rings trilogy at the cinema, but felt there were a few parts not explained properly. This box set provides nearly 3 extra hours of film (all worked in beautifully and seamlessly), as well as reams and reams of behind the scenes interviews, how they did the "miniaturisation" of the Hobbits etc, etc. Well worth the money we still havent got through it all yet. This is from a family of 2 adults a 13, 10 and 4 year old!
