The Battle for Middle Earth begins!

The Two Towers sees us pick up from where The Fellowship of the Ring left off - The Fellowship is broken - Gandalf was lost in Moria, The Uruk-Hai have slain Boromir and abducted Merry and Pippin, and are being pursued by Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli, and Frodo and Sam are making their way towards Mordor, to destroy The Ring.
On their travels, Merry and Pippin are rescued by an Ent (a tree-like creature) named Treebeard and subsequently get caught up in a battle for Isengard between the Ents and Saruman, the former head of the Order of Wizards. Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli are reunited with Gandalf, who survived his battle with the Balrog and is now Gandalf the White. Together the four of them ride to Edoras, and subsequently Helms Deep, to help defend Rohan against Saruman's orcs and Uruk-Hai. And Frodo and Sam find an unlikely guide to Mordor in teh shape of Gollum, the very creature from whom Bilbo Baggins acquired The One Ring in the first place.
Like The Fellowship of the Ring before it, The Two Towers has been masterfully captured by Director Peter Jackson. Being the Special Extended version it also introduces scenes previously unseen in the original production of teh film - many of which are small, but key points in the story.
The fiilm is split over 2 DVDs - which is a slight annoyance, and has another 2 DVDs packed with extras - a must for the Lord of the Rings fan!
