I remember seeing Free in a Church Hall in Stockton on Tees in 1969 before they became famous (pre All Right Now days). All of the albums I have are on Vinyl, and I wanted a CD to play in the car. I love all of the songs on this CD. Paul Rogers voice is soulful, Andy Frazer's base is inspiring, Paul Kossoff makes his guitar talk and Simon Kirke drum playing is powerful. Without any of today's digital enhancement, and multiple instruments - these boys 'fill' the CD with complete sound.
There really are some great songs on this album. Songs such as 'The Hunter', 'All Right Now', 'Mr Big' and 'I'll be Creepin'. There is some great work on the bass guitar in this album along with great singing from Paul Rodgers (now the lead singer in the quuen tribute band). Paul Rodgers is truely one of the most talented vocalist there is. Kossoff (lead guitar) could have been one of the all time greats up there with all the great names, his early death was a true loss. The album contains all the classic songs. There is one song however i would have liked to have seen on it and thats 'Wishing well'. For me this was one of the best but it doesn't even get a mention.
There are some great songs on this album (some of which are live) I would reccommend it to anyone who likes bands such as deep purple, rainbow ect.
