excellent film!for every first wife thats ever been "traded in" it gives you a real sense of "girl power" this is women fighting for what is rightfully theirs.Goldie Hawn,Bette Midler,Diane Keaton take you through a roller-coaster of emotions with so many one liners to bring a smile to your face, the sound track is memorable especially 'You Don't Own Me'.As they say girls 'Don't get mad,get everything!'
What a change to see a film where all leading roles are women. To me, this is one of the best films I ever bought, not knowing the film previously. Even the most hardened of males must agree that the whole plot, full of twists and turns, is one of the best films ever.
The parts as played and the sets as used are a little remote from real life but, hey, this is a film. It starts with four college girls who are best of friends. They eventually graduate and set about making a place in the World for themselves. The death of one of them bring them back together and The First Wives Club is set up.
How to do, what to do, follows in this superbly crafted and acted film. It really is a good film that ends with you watching it, 'cause that's the only way you will find out.
Forget the Spice Girls! If you want Girl Power then this film is oozing with it!
After the death of a dear friend, 3 women reunite and decide not to go the same way... they refuse to be messed around by men any longer!
The first wives are planning their revenge!
They achieve this in a range of imaginitive, risky and funny ways.
The film is a delight to watch and one of my favourite bits is the auction where they trick the younger girlfriend of one First Wife to buy another one of the First Wives' husbands stuff at ridiculous prices. I also love how they obtain the stuff... ooh and the song... and the bit in the shop.. and the therapist... ok ok, it's ALL good. I love it.
Get the girls round, crack open the lambrini and have a great time watching this fabulous feminist delight!
