I love Mariah , ahve every albumn, DVD and have followed her music for years.
This albumn , I admit is not as good as some of the others ( Butterfly & rainbow )but still remarkable when you compare it to most of the other albumns in the charts. Mariah has the most amazing vocal ability and proves she is still as good if not better than the other divas trying to mimic her - ie leona lewis !! ha Best singles are Shake it off & we belong together, I should be your girl, but my fave is the duet say somethin with snoop.
Id recomened this albumn to all , mariah fans will love this as the ballads are still there but mostly r& b which she excells in, but everyone should have a listen , A + .
I bought this for a friends birthday......I am personally not a fan but she is a huge fan!
She has said however that the album is not entirely what she expected and said that although she would have still purchased she was a little disappointed with 3/4 of the tracks
Nothin Like It It Is Amazing i Love It i mean it is a really really really really amazing album i love every single track like i said there is nothing like it it is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo BRILLIANT
Although I do adore this album, there are one or two faults. A couple of these include the R&B track "Your Girl" simply because it is too short and massively oversung. It probably would have been much better if the rap was kept.
Apart from these the album suprises me. She moves away from her Hip Hop influence and come back more to her R&B routes. The ballads "We Belong Together" and "Mine Again" are there for the fans alone, and show that she still has the voice to match her diva status.
Sorry to say this but I bought this album as I have a few of Mariahs classics and liked them all, that is until this album.
Mariah what can I say.......get off your high horse and write some NEW sounding stuff. Get out of this thing that youve got to be like everyone else with all their bling and all that c*** in the charts and do what you do best. Ive got nothing against the bling thing and I do like some of the music thats out but this isnt Mariah.
This album is so boring with a lot of new age R & B that does not suit her and some ballads that are the same sounds as her older productions.
Sorry but im not impressed.
My verdict: I wouldnt buy it but kids into bling will love it.
What can you say about Mariah? A lot of people don't realise that she writes, composes and arranges most of her own work, and has done since the 'Music Box' album.
The Emancipation is a superb mix of up-beat feel good songs as well as her trademark ballads. Her voice is better than ever and the Diva has landed firmly back on her feet.
The album also contains some great duets with people like 'Snoop', 'Twista', 'Nelly' and 'Dupri'. The Singles ('It's Like That', 'We Belong Together', 'Shake it Off' and 'Get Ur Number') are great examples of what this album offers. Superb lyrics, catchy melodies and her stunning vocal range.
My Personnal favourites are: 'We belong Together', 'Say Something', 'Circles', 'To the Floor', 'One and Only', 'Shake It Off', and the Kanye West Produced 'Stay The Night'.
