  Awesome Movie

Once again,Scorsese baffled the audience again with another mind twisting, mob griping modern goodfella's. Everything from the soundtrack to dialauge, the movie was the closest definition to perfect American movie as humanly possible. As if the movie couldn't possibly be better, the plot twists with an extravagant, very unexpected turn that just thickens the plot. Jack Nickelson does yet again another outstanding acting performance, dropping humorous lines, but very serious when necessary. Leonardo Decaprio finally plays the non pretty boy role in this film (for the most part) and finally shows off his good acting skills.

With a cast containing more stars than the Milky Way, a unique and powerful script and a legendary director, who finally received the recognition he deserved when Oscar came to live on his mantlepiece, how can anyone deny the quality that his film exudes? Great entertainment!

Martin Scorsese directed this character-driven crime drama that stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon and Jack Nicholson. Frank Costello (Nicholson) is a Boston mob boss the state police want to bring down. They give trooper Billy Costigan (DiCaprio) an elaborate cover, and he infiltrates Costello's inner circle. But Costello has a dirty cop, Colin Sullivan (Damon), looking out for his interests. The narrative engine is the conflict between Costigan and Sullivan, which is resolved in a climactic showdown

The Departed - Classic bad guy good guy film

A highly recommended film to watch.. This is one of the best films I've seen in a long time. The story is based around two different kids and how they both join the police force. One of the kids grows up to be a dirty cop, while the other one turns out to be the good cop with a twist! My review won't do this film justice. All I can say is you must watch it!

This film has unecessary violence and for half of the film I got mixed up in the characters as they both appeared very similar in looks. No real storyline so I would suggest avoiding and spend you time watching somthing more interesting and entertaining.

Step 2 : Try an advertiser's offer
Basically all you need to do in this step is complete one of the offers, this is where the freebie site make their money, if you complete an offer then the freebie site will recieve commission for it. So if you complete Coral which will only cost you £5 to complete, the freebie site gets £25 from Coral. The two best offers are Lovefilm Free DVD rental (rent two DVD's, keep them for about 2 days, send them back and then cancel the trial) and Coral (bet £5 on a sport). I would reccommend you do Coral as it credits in an hour and is really simple to do, Lovefilm however can become complicated and takes up to 2 weeks to credit! You can also try one of the other offers, most are gambling offers. Don't skip this step! You must complete this step to get your free iPhone!

You only need to get a few signups before you'll be finished. You can ask your friends or your online buddies. I already got a free PS3, Wii, and XBOX Elite without even having to ask my friends for help - there's lots of people online who want a free iPhone like you! One of the easiest ways to get a referral is to do a favour for a friend and ask them to sign up in return. That way, you both can get a free iPhone!

Basic rules
Don't break these rules! This is the only reason that you won't get your free iPhone, so make sure you follow these rules!

- One account per household - don't use a public computer to sign up!
- Use real information - this is a proven legitimate site and they will not give out your information.
- Only complete each offer once! You cannot complete the same offer again, even for different freebies.
- Don't try to cheat the system. This site has been proven legitimate, and they will catch you if you try to cheat. If you do everything legitimately, by following this guide, you will get a free iPhone!

The Departed

Martin Scorsese's underworld thriller The Departed opens with a voice-over from its larger-than-life villain, a Boston crime lord played by Jack Nicholson who declares, "I don't want to be a product of my environment; I want my environment to be a product of me." It's the most personal statement in this highly commercial movie: Scorsese's most popular and critically acclaimed films have defined the violent urban drama (Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, GoodFellas), but through a series of ambitious and eclectic projects he's resisted being defined by it himself (The Last Temptation of Christ, The Age of Innocence, Kundun). One needn't be a ruthless mobster or a restless film director to understand these antithetical urges -- we all yearn to belong somewhere, but that sense of belonging always exacts a price, usually in the form of allegiance. If ever a Scorsese film was one for the fans, The Departed is it. You can just imagine him lining up the next head-splat gunshot scene, muttering, "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!"

A remake of the 2002 Hong Kong cult hit Infernal Affairs, The Departed transplants the action to South Boston, but the location doesn't really matter; the two operative cultures here are the state police and a local mob run by the monstrous old-timer Frank Costello (Nicholson). The complicated plot involves two young spies, each groomed for years to infiltrate the opposing side. Billy Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio), a promising but volatile young cadet with family ties to Costello, is recruited by the upstanding Captain Queenan (Martin Sheen) for a years-long undercover mission: he'll be convicted of felony assault and expelled from the force, and after serving a prison term he'll work his way into Costello's gang. But long before this plot is hatched, Costello is positioning his own rat: Colin Sullivan (Matt Damon), a loyal kid from the neighborhood who becomes a state trooper and wins an assignment to a special investigative unit on organized crime. Neither spy knows the other's identity, and as each settles into his secret lifehe begins to lose track of himself.

It's a classic doppelganger setup: Sullivan and Costigan may be mortal enemies, but they have more in common with each other than with anyone else. Sullivan is orphaned and living with his grandmother when Costello comes into his life, and the mobster's patronage gives him a sense of place that's worth more than any amount of easy money. Costigan had spent his childhood shuttling between his mother's North Shore home and his father's low-rent digs in Southie, and for him a state police uniform is a symbol of stability. Both young men identify strongly with their respective father figures, and each is confronted with the paradoxical situation of defining himself by posing as something he's not. ("We deal in deception," Queenan tells Costigan. "What we do not deal with is self-deception.") For each character the rub comes when his patriarch is suddenly removed from the equation and his link to his original identity is erased -- the cop suddenly finds himself mired in a life of crime, and the criminal is safely ensconced in the law enforcement community.

With its welter of double crosses, The Departed is completely engrossing, a master class in suspense. But in moral terms it may be the least involving story that Scorsese -- an artist much preoccupied with morality -- has ever taken on. Costigan spends years working for Costello, un

A class set of actors, a class plot and wicked dialogue. Essentially a copper (di caprio) goes deep undercover as a mobster and a mobster (damon) goes deep undercover as a copper. Throughout the subsequent bit of the film both of them are trying to unearth the others identity without themselves being discovered. A very good film. It's a tad violent at the end. But it's all well worth a watch.

  Must see Movie of 2006
Review created: 05/09/07

Great performances from Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon plus great support from the likes of Martin Sheen, Mark Wahlberg, Alec Baldwin and our own Ray Winstone. However, as always, Jack Nicholson steals the show as the psycotic, paranoid and violent Irish-American ganster boss.

One of Scorcese's best films (and that's saying something!) great screenplay adaption of some old Japanese film, lots of great shots of Boston, superb soundtrack top-class acting and an intricate plot which builds and builds the suspense to a fantastic climax.

Watch this film. Better still buy it and watch it a few times (I,ve watched it 4 times so far and noticed new bits every time)

Loved the cast, Jack Nicholson is amazing in it.
Even Marky Mark is great in it!
Not really into extras but the film itself is amazing, i remember seeing it at the cinema and thinking "this is a film that i need to buy on DVD".
I've not seen the original "Internal Affairs" so i cant really compare the two but all in all a must see film if you like gangster/thriller films.
