I consider myself to be very lucky to have seen Jimi Hendrix in Concert,I can honestly say he quite eclipsed the Walker Brothers who I had gone to see, never before or since have I heard his equal, or been 'blown away' by any other bands performance (having been in the enviable position of working at a Concert Hall) This CD is excellent, not only combining the excitement of Jimi Hendrix himself talking and introducing his songs, but the interaction of the audience, so the listener gets an impression of the atmosphere of his concerts. What a musician, if you can buy this CD do, you won't be disappointed.
THIS IS A TRUE KEEPER! OF JIMI'S COMMERCIAL RELEASES, THIS RANKS VERY HIGH! KEEP IN MIND, EVERYTHING HE DID WAS DONE & RECORDED ON ANOLOG EQUIPMENT, YET IT STILL SOUNDS THE BEST!
A lot of people will lull over Jimi's best live album. Some will tell you that Woodstock was the perfect document of his performance, whilst others swear by his 'Band Of Gyspys' album. Both are great in their own way, but it is this CD, which is an amalgam of long deleted Hendrix titles such as 'Hendrix In The est' and 'Live At Winterland', that displays all areas' of Jimi's talent. Ferocious version of 'I DOn't Live Today' and 'Are You Experienced?' capture how exciting Jimi is, and leaves you to ponder how the music world would be, if we were still able to watch him perform today.
