Perhaps it just wasn't my type of film, but I thought it was awful and a complete waste of money! I only bought it as I am a Meat Loaf fan, but he only featured in it for about five minutes.
This film is typiacally English once Samuel L Jackson lands in Liverpool! A very mixed cast that I felt didn't really work! I mean - Meatloaf??? He's about as a convincing bad boy as I am! (and I'm a girl!)
The film did have an interesting story line but seemed to just fizzle out! Samuel L Jackson has definately been involved in better films! I usually love him but was a bit disappointed with this, not so much his perfromance just the script! His bad-ass persona doesn't really fit in with an English cast!
In all fairness, it disappoints me to say, this film is average but still a decent enough watch! I am pleased I bought it but don't think I wil watch it as much as some of his other films such as Coach Carter!
A truly fabulous film brings back nostalgia with the music with how the film takes its twists the film has been made to perfection and brings in that comedy element also. a must for any clubber or hard core raver out there.
A great film with Samuel L Jackson adding that American Smooth coolness only he can! Fantastic cast of well known Brits making you feel right at home. Film is believable, very funny at times, good value allround
i saw the film on tv and it was so good that i decided to buy the dvd, i went on ebay found what i wanted, bidded and then it was delivered to my door. great....
it was alot cheaper than in stores. i bought it for my friends media exam revision. Dvds are much easier to watch and as she can skip scenes and watch deleted scenes, it was much easier
well it was brillinat. i paid 4 this item and sent the money in the pst and i never got the dvd, i evan told the buyer that that we sent the money and i nevaer got a reply so ebay thought it was nessacery to put a strike on my ebay account evan thow i paid fot the item. SORRY but tht is seriously bad customer service.
Loved this movie and when I lost it I was gutted. The parody of almost every 'gangsta' movie made will have you rolling in your seats, if only at Robert Carlyle getting shot in the bum and complaining about it, and Sean Pertwee compliaing about hurting his knee after rhyming off a list of other injuries to himself and his car!! There is a bit too much swearing in it, but then, if thats the only complain i can find about a movie, then it must be good! The entire movie will make you laugh and the twist at the end is completely unexected!! And i won't ruin the movie by telling you what it is, just go and buy it, you know it makes sense
I first saw 51st State with my older brother when i was 15, far too young to even have been in the cinima, but i loved it! Samuel L. Jackson outdoes himself in this beauty of a British spoof gangster film, and despite Robert Carsliles poor scouse acccent, he was brillient too. what really made this film, though, was S.L.J's bare naked bum at the end; this is why i bought this film!
Lots of swearing, it seemed like it was "just for the sake of it" towards the middle/end of the Film it didn't seem to be quite so bad. But so much swearing did seem to "stick out" as being unnecessary. The characters you knew would have sworn but this was in excess. The Story was unusual, it carried it well throughout the Film, there were twists and turns that were carried out well. The Actors were good at their parts, I would watch it again but it wouldn't be my first choice.
very god quality and quick service thanks! Have not had chance to watch the whole film yet, but will do once I have spare time. definately recommend ebayer
