Terminator 3 - Rise Of The Machines (DVD 2003)

The third outing for this popular franchise, saw a change of director, however James Cameron was still involved with the script writing.

Compared to the last two film this would be the weaker of the trilogy. However it's still a good film and once you have seen the first two, obviously you're going to see the conclusion.

Plot summary:

After failing twice, to kill the young John Connor. Skynet sends a more up to date Terminator (T-X) to to eliminate him and his future wife.

As with the previous films John learns of Skynet's plans and modifies a old terminator unit to protect his younger self.

This was the Two Disc edition which had some good extras

If you're looking for value try the Trilogy boxset, which has all three films and a host of extras.

How come a movie studio using their rights to use a character build up such a opportunity-jackpot-halfbaked popcorn movie just to make cash out of loyalty of this huge fan base?

I felt betrayed and sad when I saw this (God permits) last installment on this sequel. What have they done to my robot?

after t2 i could not be bothered with t3 but what a suprise.a great film,excellent visual effects,some choice dialogue and an ending i didnt see coming.this film surpassed my expectations and beyond.you thought t2 was good then watch this,its as good if not better.

This is a two disc set with both discs in excellent condition. Had decided to buy it as I am watching Sarah Connor Chronicles on cable and wanted to get some background knowledge. So am collecting the trilogy.

The dvd was delivered in excellent time.

Having converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this film gem in digital format. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included. There's only a 20-minute interview with the director and other shot "making-of" vignettes.

I purchased this item purely because I'm a big fan of movies and there are certain sets, like the terminator and alien films, that I simply have to own.

The film itself is incredibly weak by comparison to the first two in the trilogy but it has it's moments and stands up well enough if you disregard its predecessors.

Worth buying solely for the moment when the terminator dons a set of pink elton john star shaped glasses in a moment of pure comic parody.

Worth a cheeky fiver perhaps (inc P+P) or as part of a set.

I love watching films and am always on the look out for films I have not seen. Not having watched a terminator film I bought this bargain and was not disapointed. Its a good sci fi thriller, fast moving, not to be taken seriously kind of film. Enjoyed it alot and the stunts and visual effects were great. So much so I want to see the others in the series.

i loved t2 and didnt think they could get better, you know the thing with sequals! but i thought this was the best yet, great acting, great stunts overall brilliant

WELL MAY BE NOT, THE STORY OF THE JUDGEMENT DAY BECOMES JUDGING ITSELF IF YOU HAVE SEEN THE FIRST 2 THEN YOU THE KNOW STORY JOHN CONNOR IS THE FUTURE OF THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS AGAINST THE CYBORGS FOR THE FUTURE. THATS ABOUT IT BUT THE GRAPHICS ARE SUPERB, AND ARNOLD SCHWARZENNGER ALWAYS GET THE SPELLING WRONG IS STILL SUPERB AS HE STARRED IN 1985, THIS IS ONE SPECTACULAR FILM, THE PHOTOGRAPHY IS SPECIAL, AND WE JUST HOPE THERE IS MORE TO COME, GET THIS ON VHS OR DVD, THE FILM WILL HAVE YOU SPELLBOUND, HAVE THE POPCORN AND THE PIZZA, BECAUSE YOU ARE IN FOR A REAL TREAT, SUPERB AT ITS BEST YET! This role was made for Arnie. Lots of action without too much dialect. Each terminator film was better than the last - so this one is great. Plenty of suspense and intrique. You'll love it !!

I wanted it to complete the Terminator Trilogy, I think alone it would be a good film but it is worthless compared to its predecessors. It would have been better if it was maybe a 15 instead of a 12, appealing to a younger audience was a mistake. but still 3/5.

This is a great action film that you can pick up and watch time and time again with some awsum special effects and great plot lines, this is a fast paced and interesting film, with Arnie showing why guns are better when they are bigger. For the peole out there that think action films are boring or not your type of thing this movie with blow you away with great action scenes and an excellent story line and proberly one of the best vehical chase scenes ever (including a fire truch and the destruction of a whole busy shopping street. This is a must own for so many reasons, so go out and buy it.

The most impressive film ever i reckon,makes you realise why we are all here,the future of the world is robotics without the bad side of this film though,robotics save people,military lives and vastly now help medical work,surgeries,robot limbs and even hospital pharmaceuticals,Arnies best filnm ever i reckon.Cheers.
