Tarzan (DVD 2000)

Tarzan is a beautifully made Disney movie of the book originally written by Edgar Rice-Burroughs. Disney have of course added some of their own ideas to it, but essentially it is the very same story we all know of the man raised by monkeys in the jungle.

There's plenty of action, romance and humour as we so often find with these feature-length animated movies, but there is sufficiently less dialogue compared to many of it's counterparts. Instead we rely on the visuals and emotions shown by the characters to move the story along. There is a very powerful soundtrack throughout the movie also from Phil Collins which adds lots of emotion and excitement to the film; but due to lack of dialogue, Tarzan almost feels like a musical at times.

THe story is beautifully depicted in a way that only Disney can acheieve. A truely brilliant movie for all the family to enjoy. It's not quite in the same league as "The Lion King", but then not many films are. Highly recommended nevertheless.

one of disney's best, excellent viewing for children, funny one-liners for adults, we bought it as my son had seen it at the cinema many times, and wanted to own it as his own.

really fab film great story has the edge of seat stuff and fun bits too kids love this film but adults do too! i could sit and watch this film every day - the soundtrack to the film is by phil collins and really does compliment the film - you must watch this - if you have kids buy it!

I love the story and the songs. Its a story all children enjoy. I had purchansed the book for my children..and they wanted to see the film as well. Its worth buying and adding to your collection of classic disney movies for children.

this dvd is one of the best walt disney as done,anyway deep within the jungle a mother gorilla name an orphaned boy tarzan and adopts him as her own,even thought the silverback leader kerchak shuns the hairless wonder.tarzan develops all the instincts and prowess of a jungle animal,but one day tarzan own kind human including the beautiful jane,the only world tarzan has ever know and the one in which he belongs collide with extraordinary force.l would recommend these dvd to anyone as it is suitable for young and old

We decided to buy this dvd because of the price and condition, we love the dvd as it is a Walt Disney which we collect.

What i loved about tarzan after watching were the songs and of course Disney's animation work.. I bought it for a brother of mine who wanted to watch it
