Entry level tomtom sat nav device that replaced the tomtom 300 and classic GO, this model is much slimmer than its predecessors, meaning you can slip it in your pocket for safe keeping. Easy to use even for the beginner, you can either type in town then road name (even the street number) on its 4 inch touchscreen, or the postcode and it will take you straight there. You can store your frequently visited places so you don't have to re-type the address each time. Very useful, especially if you have speed camera locations loaded on it (Might pay for itself in saved fines !)
There are many free websites where you can download POI's (Points of Interest) like swimming pools, congestion charge zones or a particular shop brand. (You may need a bigger SD card for large quantities, I recommend a 512Mb)
Beware, thieves love them, always take it out of the car with you, also remove the bracket from the window or they might break-in just to check it's not under the seat or in the glove box.
This version has full maps of Great Britain only, there is another version with maps of the rest of Europe on as well.
I have the upgraded 510 now but the tomtom one is just the same when it comes to directions and after all, that's what it's for. Bin your maps and get ONE !

Quick delivery very good price and follow up when the car cradle had not been included. I have used it a few times now and I am still getting used to it. not sure if it is 'tempremental' because it's second hand or it's a TomTom glitch. In a built up area i.e. at home it can't find a signal. Whilst setting it up it often 'freezes' and I have to use the re-set facility. However with patience I get there!

  CHECK IT OUT!

The XL one has a large screen which makes it quite easy for the touch screen feature. It also boasts of a good GPS reception (even inside some buildings). The simple holder is quite good but I got the upgraded holder is better and it makes it stay permaently glued to the wndscreen.
The only bit I'm not sure of is the battery life. I tried it and it lasted under 2hours, this might still be a plus as I'm sure there are not many of such equipment that can boast of longer battery life.
Overall, its a must have and a great value for money. You'll never get lost again!

  TomTom Review

I've had a TomTom on my O2 XDA for about 3 years. THe unit works well, but is a bt of a pain to connect up every time and an external GPS receiver is needed. This year, I toured the eastern side of the US and borrowed a relations TomTom One. It worked faultlessly, even in the center of NYC, giving me an excellent alternative route entering NY due to an accident. Well, that was it, I had to get my own and decided on the XL version to have the bigger display. The unit I purches was almost unused and despite it missing the registration card (the code number has since been supplied by TomTom), the unit is working well.
I could easily have bought a cheaper unit of another manufacturer, but having got use to TomTom, I've stuck with it. (Even though the map has me living at a different address ;-) )
Overall, a good unit and works well even when you are on foot. I don't go away from home without it!

TOMTOM ONE XL GB Car GPS Receiver with Euro maps
Review created: 10/04/08

This Tom Tom is one model up from the Which? recommended model. The principal difference being the larger screen and the facility to take SD cards. For everyday use, I have not foud that the SD facility particularly useful. The Sat Nav "talks" to the Tom Tom server for updates etc, painlessly. I have found the updated safety camera information invaluable. There are some odd quirks with the maps - but the core of the maps are excellent and fairly up to date. There is a facility for sharing errors in maps and making local corrections. In short this Sat Nav does exactly what it says on the box, and is fundamentally intuitive and easy to use. Having European maps is wonderful facility. A middle way as between fastest and shortest routes would be useful. (I had this facility on my old Garmin). I have not had any problem with drop outs/no satellite signal. The quantity of information eg speed/current speedlimit (the latter not always displayed) along with information on time and distance unexpired is also useful.

  My new Tomtom one XL
Review created: 08/04/08

I have really enjoyed using my new StaNav. As a family we are now travelling more and making quicker arrival times. Most of the time my TomTom is very accurate but it does occasionally send us down footpath style tracks rather than real roads or direct us through locked and barred gates. This is usually in rural areas. This does keep your wits about you and you should never take a turning without considering the safety of yourselves first. The TomTom web site is also a useful link for updating the TomTom. The voices are clear and the images on the screen are very clear. We are still learning new things the SatNav can do!

  Tomtom XL - Excellent
Review created: 03/03/08

Since I bought this, I havent looked back.
On the several times I have used this, it has always got me to the door of my destination.
To be honest I initially wondered what all the fuss was about as I always used maps and route planners. This tool takes away all the hassle and gives you easy to follow visual and verbal commands
Dislikes -None
Rates this 10 out of 10

  TOMTOM goes strength to strength
Review created: 26/02/08

I huge improvement on older TomTom models.
I did have an older TomTom910 which worked great,
apart from it being quite a bulky unit,
it not sitting in it's cradle properly causing it to reset.

But the new TomTom's carry all the great things about the older ones over,
the simple interface, the speedy GPS lock, the quick routing,
then tweak it all and throw in a few more functions to make it even more amazing.

It now charges using the Mini USB cable, so that means one less cable,
and it won't be resetting (there was actually a setting in the options, to either reset or not when external power is lost). There's a huge clear and bright widescreen LCD.

The TomTom One series is great value for money if you just want UK maps.

The Free iPhone Guide

To get yourself a free iPhone all you have to do is follow the 3 easy steps:

Step 1 : Sign up for a free iPhone
Sign up at the link below to get your free iPhone. We recommend this free iPhone site because it's been TRIED and TESTED to work.

http://Gifts.real-incentives.com/2992 (copy and paste into browser)

You can choose other prizes like free consoles from this site too! Make sure you use a real email address. Use your real details when you sign up so that the company knows where to send your iPhone! Remember that they have been proven legitimate, so will send you your free iPhone if you do everything legitimately!

Step 2 : Try an advertiser's offer
Basically all you need to do in this step is complete one of the offers, this is where the freebie site make their money, if you complete an offer then the freebie site will recieve commission for it. So if you complete Coral which will only cost you £5 to complete, the freebie site gets £25 from Coral. The two best offers are Lovefilm Free DVD rental (rent two DVD's, keep them for about 2 days, send them back and then cancel the trial) and Coral (bet £5 on a sport). I would reccommend you do Coral as it credits in an hour and is really simple to do, Lovefilm however can become complicated and takes up to 2 weeks to credit! You can also try one of the other offers, most are gambling offers. Don't skip this step! You must complete this step to get your free iPhone!

Step 3 : Refer some friends
This part is a lot easier than it seems, especially now with free iPhone sites getting so popular. There's lots of people online who want a free iPhone too, so start referring them! You only need to get a few signups before you'll be finished. You can ask your friends or your online buddies. I already got a free PS3, Wii, and XBOX Elite without even having to ask my friends for help - there's lots of people online who want a free iPhone like you! One of the easiest ways to get a referral is to do a favour for a friend and ask them to sign up in return. That way, you both can get a free iPhone!

Basic rules
Don't break these rules! This is the only reason that you won't get your free iPhone, so make sure you follow these rules!

- One account per household - don't use a public computer to sign up!
- Use real information - this is a proven legitimate site and they will not give out your information.
- Only complete each offer once! You cannot complete the same offer again, even for different freebies.
- Don't try to cheat the system. This site has been proven legitimate, and they will catch you if you try to cheat. If you do everything legitimately, by following this guide, you will get a free iPhone!

Thats all, just follow my guide and you will have your free iPhone in no time.

Thank you.
