I like the fact that its funny with penguins, animation, shia lebeouf (or whatever), jon heder etc. nothing really i dislike about it apart from i still don't think that its based on a true story - i fail to see tht! I decided to buy obviously because of why i said i "like the fact that"!!!! !!! !!! !!! !!! !!! !!! !!! !!! !!! !!!! !! !! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !! ! !
good fun for all ages.the kind of film where a parent could watch with their children and actually enjoy it,instead of pretending to.laughs and fun galore.highly recommended.
its a quality film.....my 4 year old loved it and i loved it too
cody is a penguin who loves surfing but hasnt got any support from his mum or brother. his idiol is big z a surfing penguin. he enters a surfin tournament and alng the way meets this chicken called Joe....who is so funny.......he also meets someone toally unexpected
Boring, due to a lack of decent script. Penguin idea had already been done much better before, in Happy Feet, March of the Penguins. Not recommended, difficult to watch past first ten minutes. Disappointing for any age.
This film is different to most its put across as a documentary in a film but still great i live the realness of it. And i will watch it again with my 2 year old. One to watch.
I bought this DVD for my daughter who is two and a half and the day it arrived she wanted to watch it so I put it on. Taking into account that she is too young to understand the story line it did keep her amused for most of the time.
It must have been good because she asked to watch it later in the day again!
I decided to buy it as my daughter loves the film happy feet and I thought this might also be one she would like.
It wasn't quite what I was expecting but in all fairness I hadn't read any reviews I only knew it was about penguins. It was a good film but would proberly be more suited to children a little older.
Unlike the title suggests, this is not an informative documentary about the brilliant washing powder SURF so I was initially disappointed. However, there are penguins. Not the biscuit type, but hey-ho.Lots of colours, watery sun stuff and it has sound - it passed 74 minutes 28 seconds.
a nice family entertaiment dvd .not only for the kids and the surfers but for every body a well presented movie why did i buy it from listening to the reviews from other people who have watched it i thought i should see for myself so a relaxing evening ,glass of wine ,and press play ,yep i enjoyed it will watch again
Surf’s Up is an animated action-comedy that delves behind the scenes of the high-octane world of competitive surfing.
The film profiles teenage Rockhopper penguin Cody Maverick (Shia LaBeouf), an up-and-coming surfer, as he enters his first pro competition. Followed by a camera crew to document his experiences, Cody leaves his family and home in Shiverpool, Antarctica to travel to Pen Gu Island for the Big Z Memorial Surf Off.
Along the way, Cody meets Sheboygan surfer Chicken Joe (Jon Heder), famous surf promoter Reggie Belafonte (James Woods), surf talent scout Mikey Abromowitz (Mario Cantone), and spirited lifeguard Lani Aliikai (Zooey Deschanel), all of whom recognize Cody’s passion for surfing, even if it’s a bit misguided at times. Cody believes that winning will bring him the admiration and respect he desires, but when he unexpectedly comes face-to-face with a washed-up old surfer (Jeff Bridges), Cody begins to find his own way, and discovers that a true winner isn’t always the one who comes in first.
