Centre stage for the Ewoks with 2 feature length movies on one disc. This certainly hit the target with my 6 yr old boys, who've gradually gone Star Wars potty over the past year. Lots of fighting in these films but it's all a bit less of a roller coaster ride than the Star Wars films - which are pretty full-on when you're only 5 or 6! My 10-year old daughter lost interest half way through the second movie (we did not watch both in one sitting). This I think is a fair indication of the limited appeal of these films. In summary, perfect for 6-9 yr old boys in the grip of Star Wars or fans of Power Rangers and Transformers (so all in that same age bracket really). Beyond that, from an adult perspective the stories are a bit laboured in places, childish (to be expected I guess) and generally not that impressive. Hence the "average" rating.
We love these cuddly creatures from Star Wars. Watching the film takes us back to our youth and the joy of stories free from bad language. It has also introduced our children to the Star Wars characters. There is a moral element too - the fight of good over evil.
The reason i bought this was because im a big Star Wars fan, i fould out that George Lucas came up fot the story for these two TV movies so i dicided to buy them and find out what they were like. I the are very good for a childrens movie about the Ewoks. The effects are fantatic and the stop motion is brillant (the last ever done by ILM). They are abought a family who crash on Endor and the two children have adventures with the Ewoks.
