as with my other review on return of the jedi, the empire strikes back is a perfectly remastered film with outstounding picture quality and superb sound, a must for all those star wars fans out there
This was the movie that had the most heart stopping moment in movie history. Not to mention the best of all six star wars movies. If you havn't seen this saga then you really have missed a treat.
In my opinion the best of the lot. The Empire Strikes Back is a lot darker and more serious than the others in the series. Key parts to the storyline: The Rebellion ice base on the planet Hoth is attacked by the Imperial Forces. Han Solo and Princess Leia escape to the Cloud City where they meet up with Lando Calrissian amongst others where eventually Han has a bit of trouble with some carbonite! Luke Skywalker meets and is trained by Jedi Master Yoda in Dagobah and is also tempted to the dark side by Darth Vader who has a troubling relevation for him in a middle of a lightsabre duel! As great as the revamped version is and call me nostalgic if you like but I love the original cut of the movie. Great action scenes, characters and the famous non-ending! A must buy for any movie freak.
This is one of my favorite Films of all time! The Empire Strikes Back is Fantasic. It has a range of talent ans a great story line. It see's the return of Luke, Han, Leia, Vader, Chewie, Yoda, 3PO, R2, Wedge and Boba Fett. You also get to see new exciting Character like Lando Carlissian, Lobot, Bossk, Captain Piett, General Veers and Admiral Ozzel. This is a great film and sees Luke getting his hand cut off, Han in carbonite and Darth Vader strangling Imperial Officers! This is a great Movie and is for all ages!
A fantastic movie but is it the best of the six star wars movies? Well, in my opinion it is joint best with episode IV - A new hope. It has a different feel to all the other movies, darker and with a sense of desperation well captured by director Irvin Kerschner. Fantastic action and effects as you would expect and you can always tell this is very much a 'middle act' of a trilogy. I love it but I have to say I have to put it on an equal par to ep.IV which is not such a bad thing as the two are my favourite movies of all time.
This is still the greatest film I have ever seen, despite it being 27 years old! The action and effects and dark menace that drives the movie cant be bettered. George Lucas and Co. added extra little effects and sequences to make the special edition which improve it further. A must see ! I've seen it around 33 times and cant wait for the proposed 100 hour tv series of Starwars to appear ! 04-09-07 Clive
