A musician and a singer may be two different individuals in real life, but with Adams and Zimmer, its a package that comes out tops with a great feel to it. Zimmer's music is top class, as usual and you can immediately relate to it. Very catchy and pleasant..I think he has used various guitars this time in his compositions to commend Adam's rock n roll style of singing. The album though, will be noted for Bryan Adam's unflinching, soothing and sublime style of singing. Now, dont get me wrong, I am not exactly a fan of Adams' ..apart from Karaoke sessions of 'Summer of '69' I've never involved myself in actually paying much attention to the guy. This album, however is different. Starting with the popular 'Here I am', the album rolls on into various melodies all expertly sung by Adams. I recommend the following songs for their beautifully composed tunes and Adams' trademark crooning style: Here Iam, This is where I belong, Brothers under the sun, The long road back. But the pick of the album is definitely 'Sound the Bugle'..when I first saw the movie, which is visually beautiful, just the scene where this song is played stands out for its deft direction of the character. Amazing song, just sung perfectly by Adams. Listen to his voice breaking when he starts off and then how he changes it to the most energising finish. Awesome!
Highly recommended..a true musical!
