Slimmer, otherwise the same console, an excellent thing

The ps2 is, has been, a top console for an amazing amount of time. With the console itself selling for only £40-50, its almost as cheap as the games which play on it. The games choice is massive - with the ps1 and ps2 selection to choose from, with some truly outstanding games for every genre.
And these games, with the advent of the next gen consoles (ps3 etc), are sold for measly prices, and an amazing library of games can be made for £50.
As for the 'slim' aspect of this console, I am not an 'upgrader', but a first tiem buyer. My dad has a ps2 'fat' for many years, and i had a few games which I thoroughly enjoyed. Having gone to uni, I wanted to be able to play these games myself. The slim is indeed tiny, I can easily pack it in a backpack, with controllers, games... etc.
I recommend investing in a component video cable, or scart lead. The visual difference is stunning. You don't need a fancy HDTV for scart, either, as the ps2 looks great on most tvs.
The built in LAN is less useful - not much support is left for the online games that existed. Built in Infra Red port is similar - you need an IR controller to be able to use it, then its only really good for DVDs and CDs.
This console is well worth buying if you don't have an old fat ps2. If you have an old fat one, there's not really any point, unless you're tight on space.
