Using the Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM Lens

I have owned the Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM lens (Nikon Mount) for around 18 months & have had a really good time with it, I have found that the lens really is an eye opener giving superb crisp images with little distortion on the edges. I have used the lens on numerous occasions shooting landscapes, architecture and indoors, I have found that the lens gives really breathtaking landscapes when used in conjunction with a good linear 77mm Hoya Polarizing filter.
Here are the not really bad points the lens does have a slight clunk when in auto-focus mode but this may be down to the fierce drive on my Nikon D200 although the lens does suffer from occasional lens flare which can be sorted out with placing your hand slightly over the edge of the lens hood,
On a good note I think that this lens is truly a cracker & that for the money (£275.00) it is an absolute steal & that you certainly will not be disappointed owning one of these!

I own quite a few sigmas some good some bad but out of all the lenses I own this lens is the sharpest and the most visually stunning.
the 10-20 has elevated my photos to another level alltogether.
the angle of view is amazing every shots a panorama and chrystal clear.
you buy lenses and you dont see a lot of difference to the ones you own.
be prepared for a plesant shock when you see your first shots with this baby
you can stand six inches away from the back corner of a car and take a photo fitting the entire back and one full side of it or you can take shots so wide you have to keep your feet back or you will get them in the frame.
the main trick this lens has up its sleeve is the angle is wide as a fisheye but if you point it straight you dont get the extreme barrel distortion that makes fisheyes a novelty lens at best.
if you want the fisheye distortion all you have to do is tilt the horizon and in comes your bendy effect it wont do full fisheye but this is the widest field of view available to us you can stand in the corner of a room and still get everybody in and about 80 percent of the room as well
in conclusion this is my main lens and is rarely off my camera and the only lens ive ever bought that truly changed my photo taking style for the better.
zooms alright but once you go wide youl never look back
if you are a serious camera anorak Im sure you could find something to complain about but if you just want to take fresh vibrant interesting photos or you want to fit everyone in the picture without the shot looking like it was taken in a carnival mirror grab one of these
Ps its a great looker with its 77mm filter size gorgeous matt finish and gold detailing

Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM Lens

My Canon 40D came with a 17-85mm lens (equivalent to 27-136mm given the sensor size) as part of the kit, and the 10-20mm (16-32mm) gives a useful extra bit at the wide end. It's a good sharp lens, and I'm very happy with it. I chose this particular model because it was very favourably reviewed in one of several photographic magazines I subscribe to. It's not a professional lens, but then it doesn't have a pro price tag either. I recommend it.

This wide angle lens is just awesome. I'm constantly bowled over how good it is. If you want panoramic shots don't leave home without one. I usually purchase Nikon glass to go on my D300 but at this price and quality no contest! Dislikes? None.

  Sigma Lens - Wide Angle 10 - 22

I have been looking for a good quality wide angle lens for some time, and at a reasonable price, i found the Sigma lens 10-22mm using e-bay, and the price was just right. approx. £70:00 cheaper than most other suppliers.
The lens is perfect for my needs, for landscape and wedding photography.
The service was also excellent, being shipped from Hong Kong.
I have no negatives regarding this lens, everything about it is good quality.

Thanks

can you be sure the shop is good? I have ordered 2 items from different shops but both had to refund my acc. for not having items in stock, but not told so until 7-10 days later. Why not state on line items are in/out of stock and be sure the refund will return asap to paypal acc. but then refunded to initial bank acc.
