I had a dreamcast when they first came out and loved it. So i decided to check ebay and see if I could pick one up for my gamesroom. I managed to get one and it is great. It was well packaged, arrived really quickly and really takes me back. My friends come round and we spend more time on the dreamcast than we do on my xbox 360.
The only small problem is that because I run it through the same TV as my 360 (a Samsung HD widescreen) I can't get House Of The Dead to work. I think the widescreen aspect throws the guns sight out. No real problem because there are so many other great games for the system we just get on with Virtua Tennis, Powerstone, Capcom vs SNK etc.
All in all a great buy!

  Sega Dreamcast

After many years of playing video-games I now find myself at the age of 21, i am working full time and supporting my independant life with my beautiful partner. I have therefore lost touch with the modern high spec consols available today. I would love to own one but personally feel that the attraction to these modern games has dissapeared, its amazing how quickly you mature and consequently loose interest in something that ment so much.
However the buzz for some of the older consols which i grew up with has never dissapeared, and consequently i decided to purchase a Sega Dreamcast; a console which had so much potential but was never given the oppertunity to demonstrate it. The Dreamcast is a unique machine, it hasn't got the modern look of the PS2 or X-BOX but holds its own in a simplistic design which is typical to retro-gaming. The graphical performance of the Dreamcast is like any other consol, some games are good and others not so good, you may be surprised to know that the Dreamcast is not that different from the PS2 as far as its power. In fact there are a series of games(of which were the main reason i decided to buy one of these machines) whose graphic content can even rival most of the modern games availabe on the PS2 today. One of them being the Shenmue series, one of the most impressive games ever to be made, and i believe that this game is in the top 10 best games of all time along with the legendary Goldeneye(N64) or Super Mario(SNES).
The controler is very comfortable, with a design that ties in very closely to the offical X-BOX controller, only with a one of a kind feature. The controller has a 2x memory card slot and the Dreamcast memory cards have built in low-res screens which interect with gameplay in the sense that tips or hints, health levels or game progress will be displayed through the memory card's screen. There is a small window in the center of the controller which the memory card's screen can be viewed through.
As for the Memory card, it can be removed and carried around, and thanks to its built in screen it has a number of arcade style games, that you can play on the go.
To conclude, the Dreamcast was a one of a kind console, and due to its short exsistance due to SEGA's bankrupcy. It was always in short supply and now is a dieing legacy. It has many great features and titles, fans of games like Sonic will not be dissapointed. Cheap Dreamcast games can be found in shops like Gamestation or Game exchange for little more than a fiver!
There are a lot of used Dreamcast's about on e-bay for low prices, and thanks to SEGA's high build quality they will last many years to come.
So if your a video game fanatic like i was, why not invest in a peice of Video-game history, the Dreamcast was the last ever consol to be made by the legendary SEGA, and therefore should b preserved. If you find you don't like it, you can always ebay it!

There sum great titles -

  A tragic, premature demise
Review created: 10/07/08
by:

This has to go down as one of my all time favourite consoles up there with my neo geo and snes. There are so many really decent games on the system and with it being nearly 10 years old some games can be picked up for a few pounds.
Ok so it isnt a PS3 or xbox 360 but i guarantee that you will not be disappointed at the pure fun this machine can generate at a fraction of the costs.

The only thing that makes my blood boil is the truely awful history of this console caused primarily by the US marketing boss of sega which along with cutting short the saturn also managed to prematurely end the life of what should have been a more sucessful machine.

I have two words for someone interested in a dreamcast... GET ONE

Sega Dreamcast Console, A Console very much alive.
Review created: 10/07/08
by:

Ok I first decided to buy this classic console because I wanted a break from the Xbox and PS3, sure they're great consoles, but I wanted to revisit my childhood days, so I decided to invest my money on a Dreamcast.
I bought my Dreamcast from Ebay with a few games, which were the games I wanted in the first place, so it was a perfect auction for me to win. I ended up paying around £60ish for it, but the games themselves made the final price worth paying for.
The things I love about the console is that it opens up new doors to many other games, that you maybe loved or never knew about. Also getting games for this console in this day and age is very cheap and makes a huge diffrence in spending £30-£40 on ps3/wii/xbox game.
For gamers who have never bought a Dreamcast before, i'd very much recommend it, as you can just buy the console on its own for a mere £20, which is worth it, then you can build a game collection afterwards.
The only bad thing I can point a finger at, is that Dreamcast no longer has its Online features anymore, which is a downfall because the console owned some very interesting online games, which sadly aren't of much use anymore.
But don't let that stop you from buying one, because this is the perfect little grey console, which would interest yourself, friends and family to gather around and play classics such as House of the Dead 2, Crazy Taxi, Shenmue and many more.

  Bang goes my social life...
Review created: 01/07/08

After nearly six years without a Dreamcast, fate (and more importantly Ebay) brought us back together for the bargain fee of £20.50. The product was excellent, with the cult favourites Chu Chu Rocket and Virtua Striker already becoming a staple of my post-work entertainment. I fear that many a night will be lost to the endless possibilities of Chu Chu Rocket drinking games!!

I bought the sega dreamcast console and paid the item and the P&P charges as required...the seller didnt have a valid paypal acccount but i sent the money through this service anyway with his e-mail. After waiting for 2 weeks I decided to contact seller in case there was any problem, however, when I was trying to find a way to contact him I realised that he was no longer a ebay user and had deleted his own account on the ebay website!!

Sega's last console, but what a console!
Review created: 01/06/08

Growing up, I had a Mega Drive and a SNES. My Mega Drive was played the most, mainly due to a certain blue hedgehog, but it also cemented my love for Sega. Fortunitly, I moved onto the N64 and not the Saturn, since at the title, it was lacking any big Sonic game. Now into my older phase, I decided to start collecting Retro Consoles since they have games you cannot get on any other consoles. The Saturn came first, then of course, the lovely Dreamcast.

The console failed to compete with Sony and Nintendo, so it became Sega's last console before becoming a third party developer, but the Dreamcast holds a great library of games including Skies of Arcadia, Sonic Adventure 1+2, ChuChu Rocket, Power Stone, the best version of Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Shenmue, House of the Dead 2 and many many more. Even the memory card was an awesome piece of work with its LCD screen and mini games you could download to it.

This is only my beginning into Dreamcast territory, and I ve loving every bit of it!

Classic arcade gaming in a console!
Review created: 14/05/08

Okay, NOT quite its Sony equivelant, but only for one reason. Everyone got a PS2 instead of a Dreamcast. I can fully understand why, I mean it was the safer bet. The PS1 proved itself big time and the Saturn was hardly an earth shattering creation.

But the Dreamcast blows that out the water. Get one, NOW! Crazy Taxi, Sega Rally, Virtua Tennis 2.. I could go on for a while but basically any Sega made game on this machine is almost guaranteed to be quality stuff. And ANY arcade conversions are near perfect.

I bought one years ago but it broke, so I recently got a new one for a bargain thanks to the lovely eBay, and must say its not aged one bit. The games still look arcadey and the machine's top notch. Even at that, the standardised console games like Dino Crisis, Ready 2 Rumble Boxing and the like are all top notch anyway, so you're not going wrong getting a Dreamcast.

Downside.. they don't make games for it, its non existent now. But hey, go on eBay and any *other* famous auction site and there's plenty of games and stuff for it. I reccomend getting a scart cable and you NEED at least 1 VMU to save your games. But so long as you have the console and the pads you'll have a laugh anyway! Its all pick up and play stuff, brilliant console and was terribly overlooked.

Save the PS2 wants, get a Dreamcast. WAY more fun! Get the PS2 in a year or so, hey its not like you DESPERATELY need one!

Top notch! :)

First console capable or good 3d graphics!
Review created: 21/04/08
by:

The sega dreamcast has some fantastic arcade and first party (sega produced) games as well as some really good games by third party producers that were console specific. There are many sites dedicated to the dreamcast and have very useful information. Such as game reviews and guides as well as hardware, custom software and even modification information (if like me you decide to fiddle with the deminutive console). The graphics are still quite passable, though obviously do not compete well against the most recent consoles (at time of writing: xbox360, ps3 and nintendo wii). But for a small premium you can pick up the console and software at incredibly good prices here on ebay to bulk your game collection while the recent generation still charge £30+ for a single game. I personally added this console to my collection to practise a little customising and modifications and add a considerale number of quality games that i didn;t have th emoney to enjoy when the console was current and i am very happy with it. Yes my 360 might get more play but there are some fantastic (and my god simpler) titles that really are a joy to play. To anybody else thinking of purchasing this console i wholeheartedly recommend it. Buy it, play it and treasure it.

  Sega Dreamcast
Review created: 21/04/08
by:

The Sega Dreamcast was well ahead of its time when it was released with state of the art graphics which even now (2008) are breathtaking especially on titles such as Soul Calibur, Shenmue and Skies of Arcadia. I have had one of these machines since they first came out in 1998 and personally I don't think many games consoles have beaten it since even with newer technology.
The Dreamcast even had internet capability albeit with a built in 56k modem but you can now get a broadband modem that slots straight in where the modem goes.
There are over 150 titles that you can get for it and most are now available quite cheaply on ebay but do expect to pay more if you want some of the rarer titles. You can choose between a great selection of Beatem ups, Great RPG's, Action adventures, Puzzle games and Racing Sims/Games.
I think that the Dreamcast is one of the all time greats

  Sega Dreamcast Console
Review created: 16/04/08

Classic gaming, fab graphics and of course the ultimate game 'Record of Lodoss War - Advent of Cardice/Kardis'. My husband bought this game for me telling me in the process how brilliant it is.....I got bored straight away! That was until I started watching him play it. We are now both addicted! So addicted we have recently bought another Lodoss game as a spare. But of course, we wouldn't be able to play the game without the Dreamcast, what an invention......thanks Sega.

The Free iPhone Guide

To get yourself a free iPhone all you have to do is follow the 3 easy steps:

Step 1 : Sign up for a free iPhone
Sign up at the link below to get your free iPhone. We recommend this free iPhone site because it's been TRIED and TESTED to work.

http://apple.freebiejeebies.co.uk/4425 (copy and paste into browser)

You can choose other prizes like free ipod touch from this site too! Make sure you use a real email address. Use your real details when you sign up so that the company knows where to send your iPhone! Remember that they have been proven legitimate, so will send you your free iPhone if you do everything legitimately!

Step 2 : Try an advertiser's offer
Basically all you need to do in this step is complete one of the offers, this is where the freebie site make their money, if you complete an offer then the freebie site will recieve commission for it. So if you complete Coral which will only cost you £5 to complete, the freebie site gets £25 from Coral. The two best offers are Lovefilm Free DVD rental (rent two DVD's, keep them for about 2 days, send them back and then cancel the trial) and Coral (bet £5 on a sport). I would reccommend you do Coral as it credits in an hour and is really simple to do, Lovefilm however can become complicated and takes up to 2 weeks to credit! You can also try one of the other offers, most are gambling offers. Don't skip this step! You must complete this step to get your free iPhone!

Step 3 : Refer some friends
This part is a lot easier than it seems, especially now with free iPhone sites getting so popular. There's lots of people online who want a free iPhone too, so start referring them! You only need to get a few signups before you'll be finished. You can ask your friends or your online buddies. I already got a free PS3, Wii, and XBOX Elite without even having to ask my friends for help - there's lots of people online who want a free iPhone like you! One of the easiest ways to get a referral is to do a favour for a friend and ask them to sign up in return. That way, you both can get a free iPhone!

Basic rules
Don't break these rules! This is the only reason that you won't get your free iPhone, so make sure you follow these rules!

- One account per household - don't use a public computer to sign up!
- Use real information - this is a proven legitimate site and they will not give out your information.
- Only complete each offer once! You cannot complete the same offer again, even for different freebies.
- Don't try to cheat the system. This site has been proven legitimate, and they will catch you if you try to cheat. If you do everything legitimately, by following this guide, you will get a free iPhone!

Here the link again:- http://apple.freebiejeebies.co.uk/4425

Thats all, just follow my guide and you will have your free iPhone in no time.

Thank you.

  Dreamcast
Review created: 10/03/08
by:

The dreamcast is an amazing console and most of the games are pretty good. It all came well packaged with everything in it. I love the retro feel of a old console like the SNES, N64, Dreamcast ect. I decided to buy it because of all the games it had to offer. The best games were; Power Stone 2 and Fantsay Star Online. The only slightly dissapointing thing was some of the cases had been smashed and broken and one of the controllers is a bit mankey but overally i am happy with this purchase.

  Greatest Console Ever!
Review created: 09/03/08

I have always wanted the Dreamcast, but have never had the money, or the timing wasn't right to get it.

So when I finally decided to get it, I was thrilled:D

I've been playing it a lot! Especially Shenmue;-) It's like GTA in Asian style:D

So I can only recommend others to get one, it's great, it's fun, and is quite cheap;-)

It was poorly packaged, shipped thru DHL land service, recieved damaged/chipped and mostly NON-FUNCTIONAL.

I've claimed a dispute thru paypal to see if i could get a refund for returning it. I've done my deed but it seems they still haven't made theirs. I've lost my money and my item.

So basically, eBay is not safe and Paypal is a SCAM related to consumers security.
Welcome to the jungle ladies and gentleman...

  sega dreamcast cosole and games
Review created: 05/03/08

The main reason why i bought a sega dreamcast console was for 1 game, POWER DRIFT, turn the clock back to 1988 this game in my eyes was the game in the arcades which stood out either the stand up or sat down version ............to me the graphics and sound had to be the same,so i had a choice of 3 consoles commodore 64,sega suturn, or the dreamcast. Went onto youtube and checked the 3 out, and the dreamcast came out spot on.The disc is an import and a boot disc was required to play disc on the console.Have purchased other dreamcast games all came though post ok some with extra bubble wrap which was spot on by sellers.POSTAL PRICES DO SEEM TO VARY SHAME EBAY CAN'T COME UP AND CHARGE ONE PRICE,but at the end of the day it is up to U the buyer good luck.

  Like No Time Has Passed

I missed my Dreamcast. My brother and I used to share consoles until he moved out. I missed the Dreamcast. I missed Shenmue. Badly.

But now, thanks to ebay, we're reunited and it's like no time has ever passed. Particularly with Shenmue, which wouldn't look out of place if it was released today.

One word of warning - not all new tellys like the Dreamcast's connection, it took a bit of faffing about to get it working on my LCD Samsung (turned out the second scart socket's a little too intelligent for it's own good and was convinced it was being used as an output for my dvd recorder still - easily resolved by an IT Crowd-style turning off and on again.) My brother, however, didn't have it quite so easily. He decided to get his own DC out of storage only to find it wouldn't work at all with his telly. I believe he ended up buying a different type of cable in the end. Still, problem resolved eventually.

I'd forgotten how much I love Sega. I'm a Nintendo girl these days (Sony and Microsoft always failed to keep my attention, they're about bells and whistles rather then true gameplay) but my Dreamcast is a welcome addition to the ridiculous amount of schtuff hanging off my telly. Think I'm probably going to have to add a Saturn to it, soon, also.

Are you looking to find an iPod Touch, nano or a console for £5?? then visit:

http://apple.real-incentives.com/36829 (copy and paste URL into browser)

All you have to follow to get your £5 gift are 3 easy steps:

1. Sign up to the site above. (fill in your details eg. name, country).

2. Complete an offer - The best offer to do is Coral, all you have to do is bet £5 on a sport and that’s it! Why not bet on something that’s bound to happen, and it wont even cost you a penny.
Or if you prefer there is the longer method. LOVE Film’s 14 day free trial, this is totally free. If you don’t like their service then just cancel your subscription. Your offer will STILL show as complete, just be sure to put 10 titles in your library then rent one DVD and send it back first.

3. Refer family and/or friends - just get friends and family to complete an offer like you have.

That’s all! Its as easy as that! You'll have an iPod worth up to £200 for only £5, or possibly free! So give it a try, you’ve got nothing to lose.
